DYK? WIC provides personalized nutrition counseling, healthy food options, and referrals to childcare and health insurance programs 🍎

On Friday, June 12, the Raleigh County Healthy Families Alliance & Support Center was proud to partner with Seedsower to host an Adult Mental Health First Aid training at Seedsowers facility.

Participants spent the day learning how to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, respond to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, and connecting people with appropriate support and resources. Building a stronger, more informed community with education, compassion, and the willingness to help one another.

We would like to thank all of the participants who dedicated their time to expanding their knowledge and skills in support of mental wellness throughout our community and for this growing partnership with Seedsower to do more in the community.

Federal funding for West Virginia’s Family Support Centers will be available next month to keep the centers open this summer.

A huge thank you to Cornerstone IGA, WVNS 59News, United Way of Southern West Virginia, Inc. and our amazing community members for making the Founder's Day Food Donation Drive such a success!

Because of your generosity, Raleigh County Healthy Families Alliance and Support Center received an incredible amount of food that will help support local families facing food insecurity. Every donation, large or small, represents hope, compassion, and a commitment to helping our neighbors thrive.

If you registered for a snack bag but were unable to pick it up today, you can stop by First Baptist Shady Wednesday from 9 to 11 or Friday 9 to 11 for pick up. Park at the side entrance in front of the flag poles.

Just a reminder that for the first few weeks, children need to be present when the bags are picked up.
