The Tamara James Gymnasium is now official.

The gymnasium at C.W. Thomas Park now carries the name of a woman who has dedicated her life to service, leadership, and community. Tamara James is a former WNBA player, a Hall of Famer at the University of Miami, and a two-term mayor of Dania Beach.

This honor is more than a name on a wall. It’s a reflection of a journey grounded in purpose, fueled by love for her hometown, and backed by years of hard work and giving back. Through the Tamara James Foundation, she continues to support youth, families, and neighborhoods with programs that uplift and empower.

We are proud to witness this moment and celebrate a legacy that is still growing.

Thanksgiving Drive 2025 — A Heart Full of Thanks

This year’s Thanksgiving Drive was more than just a food giveaway — it was a movement powered by love, community, and service.

To Commissioner AJ Ryan and the City of Dania Beach: thank you for being our sponsor and believing in the power of giving back. Your support made a huge impact.

Special gratitude to:
• Miami Dolphins’ Aaron Brewer & Patrick Paul — for showing up and giving back to the city.
• Commissioner Carol Shuham – City of Hollywood – your presence was powerful.
• Toccara Williams – representing the Miami Chapter of the National Basketball Retired Players Association – for always showing up for the community.
• Former NBA player Lamar Greene, Dania Beach BSO, South Broward Girls Basketball team, and every single volunteer who gave their time and energy to make this happen.

From distributing food to offering kindness and conversation — this event was a reminder that service doesn’t require a title, just heart.

We fed hundreds of families — but more importantly, we poured love into our city. That’s what legacy looks like.
