A mobile dental clinic is providing free care in Houlton through Friday. Caring Hands of Maine brings dentists and students to treat patients while promoting rural dentistry. Appointments are still available.

The Danforth Artisan Market begins its summer season on June 27th at the pavilion in downtown Danforth. Susan is one of the very talented artisans that you will see at this market. Plan to visit us this summer!

Vendor Spotlight: Susan Weaver, Artist

Susan has enjoyed watercolor, oil, acrylic, sculpture and drawing throughout the years. She has many artworks for sale, most of them inspired by nature. Susan creates wonderful realistic wildlife drawings and pet portraits with colored pencils, loose impressionistic acrylic paintings and 3 dimensional needle felted animal sculptures.

Free Fishing weekend, May 30th and 31st.

The Best Things in Life Are Free… Like Fishing
School’s almost out, the sun’s sticking around a little longer, and Free Fishing Weekend is the perfect excuse to head outside and cast a line. On May 30–31, residents and nonresidents can fish Maine waters license-free all weekend long.

Whether you’re introducing a kid to their first fish, heading to your favorite fishing spot with friends, or just looking for an excuse to spend a little more time outside, this is your chance to get out on the water—no license required.

No fancy setup needed. Just grab a rod, pack some snacks, and find a spot along the shore, on the dock, or out in the boat. Early mornings, sunny afternoons, one more cast before dinner—it all counts.

A quick reminder: while fishing licenses are not required for the weekend, all other fishing laws and regulations still apply. Before you head out, be sure to check the regulations for the body of water you plan to fish—size and bag limits, and any special rules are still in effect.

So make a plan, bring some bug spray, and enjoy one of Maine’s iconic summer pastimes. You never know what might bite—but a good day outside is always a keeper.

Pretty cool! The Rib Truck has been in Danforth for our annual Art show in August the last two summers. They are a huge hit in our community. Thought you might like to know they are a finalist! Still time to vote to support their business.

No skates, no problem! Stop by the Danforth Town Office to sign skates out to use at the ice rink at the pavilion. Kim will be at the rink Saturday. Bring your bike helmet. We have skates available. Stop by and learn how to skate.
