After yesterday, I may not have a mind left, my friend Joyce and I went to North Carolina to take down supplies. We went to Asheville, Hot Springs, and about five other little towns.. got to talk to some local folks.
Really got firsthand knowledge of how the towns are faring after the devastation. Answer in a Nutshell: Locals, All Volunteers across USA,Canada & Military are pulling together to SAR, feed, walking the rivers looking for deceased, building back, fixing roads. 10,000 utilities trucks came from all states to help in one area. Many more in other areas.
WNC Stock Auction is one of the biggest distribution centers. You can drop off supplies or pick up supplies!!!
The townsfolk had told us what supplies they needed so we stocked up and are going back down to drop these back off to the people!
in Newport, the town next to my town which got flooded so bad all they’re downtown is still closed all the businesses they are hurting really bad yet and the town next to it is called Del Rio. There’s a little Campground. It was the cutest little place right on the river. Everybody loved it. Everybody liked the camp there. It got worse. The campers got washed down the river. There is a work crew there working trying to clean it up & clean out the river. My neighbor Lindsey and her two boys, are out of school next week. We are making food and going to take a day and going to go feed the crew that’s working over there.
I have been doing Flea Marketing to raise money. I have never asked for any donationson FB, at this time, I am going to ask my friends and the public if they want to donate I’m going to put up my cash app and my Venmo. If you would like to donate I would really appreciate it. Some of the stuff we can get at the places.The food we have to buy at the store and these people desperately need winter blankets little propane, stoves, and winter stuff that nobody is being able to get. Most of these towns do not have electricity back on or useable water! We are having to carry extra gas with us!
