The next 2025 scholarship recipient is Kaitlyn T. from Danbury High School. Kaitlyn is a shining example of compassion, leadership, and academic excellence. Ranked in the top 15% of her class with a GPA of 4.1181, Kaitlyn has consistently challenged herself with AP and honors courses while earning top marks across subjects ranging from Statistics and Physics to French and English Literature.
In her scholarship essay, Kaitlyn reflected on the transformative experience of serving as a camp counselor during the summer of her sophomore year. It was in the camp’s chaotic but creative art room where she discovered her unique leadership style — one rooted in empathy, connection, and quiet strength. Rather than commanding attention, she built relationships through one-on-one conversations, offering campers not just a place to draw, but a space to be heard and understood.
Kaitlyn’s leadership had a tangible impact: the sense of trust and open communication she fostered during art class carried over to the soccer field, improving teamwork and reducing conflict. Her supervisors noticed, eventually asking her to coach soccer lessons despite her limited experience — a testament to the value of the community she helped create.
Kaitlyn will attend the University of Vermont to pursue a B.S. in Sustainability, Ecology, and Policy. She hopes to build stronger, safer, and more sustainable communities around the world. We’re proud to support her journey, and we know she will carry forward Landon’s legacy of love, leadership, and service in everything she does.
