🐔♻️ Mobi showed up to support a recycling workshop today. A retired teacher with 200 chickens showed up to RUN it.
This afternoon, I had the honor of partnering with Harris County Precinct 2 Precinct2gether to bring sustainability and recycling education to the local AARP Chapter — 120 people deep, and every single one of them fully present.
The facilitator? A retired teacher.
The secret weapon she used to hook the entire room?
200 chickens. 🐓
Before she even got to waste diversion, composting, or recycling best practices — she had 120 retired adults completely locked in, swapping chicken stories and talking about how nothing went to waste on a real homestead.
And THEN she taught the class. Brilliantly.
Turns out when your teacher has 200 live witnesses to her zero-waste lifestyle at home, nobody’s checking their phone. Nobody’s half-listening. They’re asking follow-up questions.
This is what community sustainability education looks like when it’s done RIGHT — led by someone the community already trusts, grounded in real life, and just funny enough to keep 120 people in their seats on a Thursday afternoon.
Grateful to Harris County Precinct 2 for creating spaces like this. Grateful to be in the room. Grateful for the chickens. 🌱

Today at the Hyatt in the Texas Medical Center, something important happened.

We processed 16 bags of waste down to just over 4 bags — a ~73% volume reduction — in real time, on site.

Even more telling: we moved 10 bags in 20 minutes. That’s a pace of roughly one bag every two minutes.

But the numbers aren’t the story.

The story is the team.

New faces. First time seeing the machine in action for most. A live environment with a global brand watching. And they showed up steady, focused, and committed to getting it right.

What we’re proving isn’t just that waste can be reduced.
We’re proving that when you bring clarity to the system, everything changes — speed, space, cost, and possibility.

This is what it looks like to see beyond the bin.

Proud of this team. Grateful for partners willing to step into something new with us.

Today I had the privilege of keynoting the Unite & Inspire 7th Annual Volunteer Luncheon and I left more fired up than when I walked in.

There is nothing like a room full of people who give their time, talent, and energy to make their community better.

Mobi Waste is proud to be partnering with Unite & Inspire this year on real sustainability and recycling work right alongside the young adults who make this nonprofit what it is. That’s the pipeline.

That’s the point.

Yesterday’s Precinct 2 Recycles Day was everything — real people, real solutions, and real momentum building right here in our region.

Thank you to Harris County Precinct 2, Precinct 2 Together, and every vendor who showed up with purpose. And a special thank you to the friends and family who came out to show love and support — that meant more than you know. 💛

The conversations we had, the connections we made, the ideas that sparked — that’s where change actually begins.

This is what the circular economy looks like when community leads.

We’re building something here. And we’re just getting started.

Today we got to do one of our favorite things… talk trash with kids. 🗑️♻️

Mobi Waste Outreach™ had the opportunity to teach our Trash Clarity™ curriculum at the Bay Area Community Center with Harris County Precinct 2, and the students absolutely brought the energy.

We sorted real materials, asked big questions, and explored how everyday waste connects to systems, resources, and the choices we make every day.

A special thank you to Crystal Hawkins, retired teacher and principal and a lifelong science educator, who led the class today. Crystal has a gift for making science real and engaging, and the kids were all in.

And thank you to Kim Adams, who has been working alongside Mobi helping us strengthen and expand our education programs. Her guidance helps ensure what we’re building isn’t just impactful — it’s scalable and reaching more communities.

These moments matter. Because when kids start looking inside the bin, they begin to see the world differently.

Today we talked a lot of trash… and the future looks bright.

These are the kinds of aluminum cans used in schools and large kitchens to feed hundreds of people.

Today, we took six of them—and reduced them down to a fraction of their original size.

Why does that matter?

Because waste isn’t just about what you throw away.
It’s about how much space it takes up and what it costs to move it.

When we reduce volume on-site:
• Schools save on hauling
• Operations become more efficient
• Materials become easier to manage and recover

Small shift. Big impact.
