We at American Legion Post 171 in Damascus, Maryland, are veterans, men, and women who have served honorably in the armed forces during the war eras prescribed by law. The Post was founded in the fall of 1945. Our Post includes more than 300 Legionnaires, who, like all American Legion (www.legion.org) members, are volunteers who serve with a commitment to support our fellow service members and veterans, mentor our young Americans, sponsor community service programs, and advocate for strengthening our nation’s defense and security, patriotism and honor. Damascus Post 171’s Legion Family includes our Auxiliary Unit 171.
