John is ready for Juneteenth.

This year’s featured event is the world premiere of a new play entitled, Dawn of a New Century written by T. Faronii and directed by G. Oliver King. Original music by Dana Bryan Jones.

The short play illuminates a wide ranging conversation between W. E.B. DuBois and Booker T. Washington. The two men cover topics of agriculture, labor, slavery, education, politics, and history. In their debate, the audience gets a wide breath of understanding of slavery, emancipation and how the future can unfold.

The performance features an all-star cast of performers: Crystal Tweed, John Neails & G. Oliver King. The evening will include delicious food, and a community conversation.

Rehearsals for ‘Scattered Seeds of Troy’ for the on Saturday 6.20 at 12:30p

🏛️An ancient story that refuses to stay in the past. Using the poetic text and storyline from Euripides’ original tragedy (possibly the first anti-war play ever written) the artist-farmers of Farm Arts Collective explore the devastations of war in a contemporary and sadly, very real story today. But as the plot progresses, the characters find a small glimmer of hope— SEEDS! In their exodus, they decide to bring seeds from home.
