Lily B. from Damascus Troop 32034, completed her Girl Scout Gold Award in the Fall of 2026. This is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn!

She spent over 80 hours helping high school students become more prepared for life after graduation, by putting together a seminar for them to meet one on one with over 20 career professionals.

They had an opportunity to learn in-depth about careers they are interested in pursuing after high school, and could ask questions relating to work/life balance, salaries, necessary education and more.

💚🪙 Congratulations, Lily!

SIX of our Damascus troops journeyed to Camp Crowell for our Service Unit's Encampment this weekend! These Girl Scouts experienced a wide range of adventures like archery, high ropes, hiking, and fire-building. They also had the opportunity to practice service and friendship:

💚 Two Cadette troops provided services by teaching our two youngest Daisy troops basic camping skills OR by cooking and preparing a meal and treats for 100+ attendees!

💚 One Junior troop learned to be dinner hosts by setting tables and serving all attendees.

💚 Troops of all ages came together to share in games, campfire songs, skits, and s'mores.

💚 Another Junior troop led us in closing the Encampment together with a closing song & Friendship Circle.

💚 One of our talented Girl Scout Cadettes designed the custom-made badge provided for each attending Girl Scout's vest!

This weekend, our girls had the opportunity to feel what it means to "be a sister to every Girl Scout." We are very thankful for our girls, their leaders, and our very organized Service Unit Manager who all made this special weekend possible!

Our Service Unit's Encampment begins tonight! Girl Scouts owns a number of campsites throughout the US that make camping events like this affordable for troops. We will have troops of Daisies through Cadettes joining together for a weekend of adventures such as high ropes course, archery, cooking, crafting, and a service-unit-wide game inspired by Legends of the Hidden Temple! Enjoy Girl Scouts!

Troop leaders or a representative from EACH TROOP is encouraged to join us TODAY from 7–8 PM at the Damascus Rec Center for our first Service Unit meeting as we kick things off together. Whether you’re a brand-new leader, a returning volunteer, or somewhere in between, we’d love to have you there!

We’ll spend the evening:

💚 Planning an exciting year of events, activities, and opportunities

💚 Sharing ideas and hearing what you’d like from the Service Unit

💚 Connecting with other volunteers and getting to know our Girl Scout community

💚 Welcoming our new leaders with a special Investiture Ceremony

Have extra Girl Scout supplies, crafts, books, uniforms, or other goodies your troop has outgrown? Bring them along for our Girl Scout pass down! Anything that isn’t claimed will need to go home with the person who brought it.

Most importantly, this is your Service Unit! We want this to be a place where leaders feel supported, connected, and excited about what we can do together. Come share your ideas, ask questions, meet some fellow leaders, and help us shape a great year for our troops and girls.

It takes a team of volunteers to make each troop a success. Consider becoming part of your Troop Committee this year to help create a meaningful Girl Scout experience! Your troop leaders will know which roles are needed most.

We hope all of our Girl Scouts have had an excellent first week back at school! 📚 For many troops, this also means a 1st troop meeting of the new season is on the horizon. Wishing all of our Damascus Troops and excellent season of Girl Scouts ahead!
