Connecting kids through tennis! What better way to spend a Saturday! Here in Damariscotta, at the Sanford Family Tennis Courts at the Central Lincoln County YMCA, a new and returning group of participants and volunteer instructors have started their winter session of ACEing Autism Damariscotta Maine!

Lead by Georgia Ahlers who is the ACEing Autism Program Director, this active group will meet here each Saturday in December to learn and play together. As you can see the tennis courts are filled with several student athletes and volunteer tennis coaches who are ACEing Autism and having a great time at it!

How cool is this?! The Damariscotta Region’s own leader Georgia Ahlers was there last week at the US Open Tennis Championships and it was AWESOME! Check out the news story here 👇 and some words from ACEing Autism Founder & Executive Director, Richard Spurling about this great event in NYC!

We hope your week is going well! As the US Open is deep in its second week, we take a moment to look back on an amazing US Open Clinic. After a 3-year hiatus, ACEing Autism was back for its annual US Open clinic which took place inside its grounds for the first time ever.

With 40 athletes registered, 10 volunteers, 41 Program Directors coming from as far as the West Coast, and three Board Members, we couldn't be more thankful for all the time, dedication and care everyone showed to make this clinic so successful. To make it even more special, ESPN Broadcaster and ACEing Autism supporter Pam Shriver was in attendance as she took time to talk with families and volunteers. We were also thrilled to see professional tennis player Brandon Nakashima come out during our clinic to hit a few balls and take pictures with our athletes.
