Marys House Mary's House is a day habilitation facility for adults and children with special needs. We concentra I have taught at all levels, preschool through college.

My name is Michelle Mills and I am the Executive Director of Mary’s House, Inc. Mary’s House is a non-profit day habilitation program focusing on the needs of adults with disabilities. In addition, Mary’s House also provides before and after school care and summer programs for school-age children 13 years and older with special needs. The focus of the program is to teach skills for individuals to

learn to be independent to the greatest extent possible through American Sign Language, community-based instruction, prevocational skills, music therapy, independent living skills, social skills training, and recreation therapy (including participation in Special Olympics). I would like to tell you a little bit about me and why I started Mary’s House. First, Mary is the name of my oldest sister who was born with Spina Bifida. Although her life was very short, I always thought about what it would have been like to have a sister that was confined to a wheelchair. This began my journey as a Special Education teacher for over 15 years. I have a Master’s Degree in Deaf Education with a Specialization in Severe and Multiple Disabilities. I truly enjoy teaching life skills to children and adults with severe disabilities. Recently, I was teaching high school students with autism, and I have seen that there are few choices for them, after they leave school. Although there are a few day habilitation programs currently serving the Dallas/Ft. Worth market, the Arlington, Mansfield, Grand Prairie and surrounding areas are greatly underserved. This leads me to one of the most important reasons for starting Mary’s House, our foster son. Bryan was a student in my class for 5 years. He was living in a group home and about to turn 22, which meant he would no longer be allowed to go to school. On December 21, 2007, he left school with me and came to live with us. He has truly flourished in our home and has blessed our entire family. The doors of Mary’s House opened officially June 29, 2009, at 1611 West Sanford Street, Arlington, Texas 76012. Please help us keep Mary’s House up and running so that these exceptional children and adults in this area have a special place to meet. Sincerely,

Michelle Mills

"As a former fetus, I oppose abortion."

Pro-choicers will say "it's not human, it's just a fetus" to dehumanize the child, as if we don't know that fetus is a stage in human development. 🙄😒
