What. A. Year!

We ended this season with a fun night of sim golf, fellowship, and food! Our athletes have worked hard and had much to celebrate!

Our Catamount coaches, Tino Hernandez and Mac McLawhorn, highlighted every member of our Catamount Team! Eli Reyes was awarded Team Low Medalist for the season!

Our Lady Cats coaches, Heath Ellis and Doug Peters, celebrated our Lady Cat team and awarded Miss Lady Cat to Meredith Hester and Team Low Medalist to Lillian Bowers.

Thank you to The Waggle, our sponsor, for hosting us and sending us into summer break with calm, cool vibes!

And that’s a wrap on the 2026 high school tournament season!

Eli and Lillian were amazing representatives for DHS Golf in the GHSA 4A State Tournament, and we could not be more proud of them! They are polished, poised athletes who have been leaders for their teams all season!

It’s been a great day in Savannah! Our athletes and coaches have put in the work in their Practice Rounds.

Lillian will compete at Crosswinds Golf Club near the airport. The planes put on quite the show! Eli will compete at Savannah Golf Club. It is the oldest golf course in America!

It’s State Championship weekend! We’re throwing it back to 2004 to highlight Matt Hughes and the Catamount Golf Team! After an incredible regular season run, this team finished the year as AAAA State Champions!

Fun Fact: Senior Matt Hughes finished first as an individual in the tournament!

Our Lady Cats traveled to McDonough, GA this weekend to participate in the Sectionals Championship Tournament hosted at Georgia National Golf Club, which is a beautiful, rolling course showcasing the beauty and grandeur of Georgia’s trees. It was a day of perfect conditions for play.

Our Lady Cats proudly represented Dalton High in their Dalton red and had a large fan club of parents and a teammate to cheer them on! We continue to thank Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. for our amazing Sun Mountain team golf bags and DLOS Commercial Services, LLC for our logo team towels!

Lillian Bowers, Evie Lewis, Amelia Hansen, Phoebe Maguire, and Meredith Hester qualified to compete. The team did not advance to state, but Lillian Bowers’ score qualified her to represent the Lady Cats in the AAAA State Championship Tournament at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, GA.

It was a long day full of great things for our teams today at the GHSA Area 3-AAAA Championship Tournament! Congratulations to the Catamounts, who finished 5th out of 9 teams with a team score of 358. We were led by Eli Reyes (82), JD Carroll (84), Clayton Thompson (95), and Jadon-Lee Elrod (97).

Special congratulations to Eli Reyes, who qualified as an individual to compete in the 36-hole GHSA AAAA State Tournament in May 18-19 at Savannah Golf Club!

Congratulations to our Lady Cats who finished 4th out of 9 teams to advance to Sectionals at Georgia National Golf Course in McDonough on May 4th. The team has the opportunity to continue to advance toward state play!

Special congratulations to Lillian Bowers who led the Lady Cats and finished 2nd overall in the girls division!

We are so proud of our teams! GBR!
