Congratulations to Justus Volunteer Fire Company for implementing a fully paid EMS staff! Thank you for all you do for our township residents and wherever duty calls!

🚨 No April Fools’ Joke Here 🚨

Today, April 1, 2026, marks a historic milestone for the Justus Volunteer Fire Company.

For the first time in our company’s history, we have officially implemented a fully staffed, paid duty crew for our first due ambulance. Beginning today, two paid EMS personnel will staff an ambulance daily from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, ensuring immediate response capability right from our station.

In addition, we are proud to share that Justus VFC has assumed full responsibility for our EMS payroll operations. We extend our sincere gratitude to Scott Township for their unwavering support and commitment to public safety over the past two years in assisting with payroll services.

What does this mean for our residents?
➡️ Faster response times to your emergencies
➡️ No delay waiting for additional personnel to arrive to staff the ambulance
➡️ Increased availability of volunteer members to potentially staff a second ambulance when call volume and staffing allow

This is a major step forward in enhancing the level of service we provide to our community and surrounding areas.

We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and remain committed to our mission of serving you with professionalism, dedication, and care—24/7.

Good afternoon residents & friends

Just some friendly reminders regarding the upcoming snowstorm and cold temps.

The township building is available as a warming shelter should any township resident(s) suffer a power outage or other emergency. Contact supervisor George Wolter if you are in need. 570-955-7681

Please park your vehicles off the roadway so the crews can plow the roads. Enforcement of this will take place if necessary. This was addressed at the November meeting which can be read here in the minutes: http://www.northabingtontownship.org/uploads/3/4/7/4/34740328/minutes_11052025.docx

We may see snowfall rates of up to 2” per hour during the storm. No amount of salt is going to make the roads magically bare. Conditions will be poor everywhere. Please stay home.

If you have an emergency the Justus Volunteer Fire Company & Waverly Township Police will be there to answer, but remember, it’s dangerous for them too. Please only utilize our emergency services for true emergencies.

Santa is making his rounds through the township next Saturday, 12/20/25!!!

Several inches of snow are forecast tomorrow for the township! The road crews will be out! Please allow them time to make their rounds and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination should you need to go out.

A reminder to the residents…

Take a moment to look at the parking ordinance in the township. With a plowable snow event coming, (and more in the future), it’s exceptionally important that vehicles are not parked on the road or in the right-of-way so the road crew can properly plow and treat the roads. Enforcement action will take place if necessary.
