We had a great morning for our quarterly meeting! We discussed what missions our teams are on as well as following up on some things that came out of the January tabletop exercise. Three new organizations came to the meeting to add new layers of knowledge and capabilities. A cery special thank you to City of Refuge Dalton for hosting in your beautiful facility!

Does your company, volunteer group, or nonprofit organization have a skill set that you can apply to disaster response/recovery? If so we would love to hear from you.

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) meeting!

This meeting is a valuable opportunity to:
Strengthen our network of community responders
Share updates and resources
Collaborate on emergency preparedness strategies
Explore new ways to support our neighbors in times of crisis

Whether you're a long-time member or new to the group, your voice and insights are vital. We’ll also explore ways to enhance preparedness education in September and provide a Resource Exchange Table – feel free to bring flyers, brochures, materials on your agencies work and/or upcoming events.

Let’s continue building a more resilient and connected community—together.

This morning we had a tabletop exercise along side our public safety members titled “What if Helene Happened Here?”. It was a great discussion on our community organization’s capabilities in disaster response and recovery. A community’s resilience is not only due to a strong public safety response but also the strength of our organizations, economy, and most importantly our people.
