💜Our team at Murray/Whitfield CASA is proud to stand in solidarity with the Northwest Georgia Family Crisis Center 💜 to raise awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Domestic violence affects so many families and children in our community, and we stand together to support survivors and foster hope. Together, we can break the cycle and build a safer community.

💙❤️ Please join us in welcoming Griselda Jacinto Lopez to our CASA family! 💙❤️
We are excited to welcome Griselda as our newest CASA volunteer! Griselda is also an intern with the University of Kentucky, where she is working toward her master’s degree. We are grateful to have her bringing her passion for learning, dedication, and heart for service to our CASA community!

Our CASA volunteers make a lasting difference by building relationships, advocating for children’s best interests, and being a consistent, caring presence during some of the most difficult times in a child’s life. Griselda, thank you for choosing to be part of this important mission! We are so happy to have you on our team and look forward to the positive impact you will make in the lives of the children we serve. 💙❤️

🎉💙❤️Adoption Day for "Gaby"💙❤️🎉
After 5 years, 3 months, and 26 days in foster care, Gaby finally has her forever home🙌🏽🥰 This beautiful milestone is a true testament to love & resilience. Behind every adoption story is a team of dedicated hearts who never gave up on hope. We are so proud to highlight the amazing collaboration that brought Gaby to this special day.
To the Tieck family, who opened their hearts and home to Gaby, giving her the love and stability she deserves.
To Rachel Lea, her CASA, who was appointed to Gaby in May of 2023. Rachel has been the definition of fierce advocacy and unwavering stability. She refused to let Gaby navigate the system alone, advocating for her every step of the way.
To her Murray DFCS case worker, Barbara Clark, who has been a true partner in this journey, working hard to ensure Gaby had the care and support she needed to reach this beautiful outcome.

📋 Overview & Requirements:

Total In-Class Time: 27–30 hours of in class time and instruction across 9 live Zoom classes.
Independent Study: Expect 2–5 hours per week of self-paced reading, online modules, or webinar activities.

Court Observation: Trainees will complete 10 hours of documented Juvenile Court observation during or shortly following the training block.

Core Topics Covered: CASA advocacy roles, child development, trauma and resilience, domestic violence, educational advocacy, interview skills, and navigating DFCS & court proceedings.
