May holds a special place in our hearts at Murray/Whitfield CASA. It is both National Foster Care Month and Mental Health Awareness Month—two causes that are deeply intertwined.

Children in foster care have faced significant trauma, making consistent mental health support and emotional stability absolutely vital for their well-being and future. Our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) stand by these resilient youth, ensuring their voices are heard, their needs are met, and their mental health is prioritized.

This month, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible volunteers, local social workers, and community partners who dedicate their time to uplifting foster youth. You are changing lives! 💙💚

May is National Foster Care Month, and at Murray/Whitfield CASA, we are taking a moment to recognize the incredible resilience of the children in our community and the dedicated individuals who show up for them every single day.

For a child in foster care, life can feel like a series of unknowns—new homes, new schools, and new faces. That’s where a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) comes in. While many people cycle in and out of a child’s life, a CASA volunteer stays, providing a consistent voice and a steady presence.

We are filled with gratitude as we look back on our Murray/Whitfield Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. It was a truly special evening dedicated to celebrating our incredible CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and the life-changing impact they have on children in foster care throughout the year.

Our CASAs are the heart of our mission, providing a consistent voice and unwavering advocacy for children navigating the complexities of the foster care system. This night was a small token of our immense appreciation for their tireless dedication and compassion.
