Trump administration proposes new research for microplastics, pharmaceuticals in drinking water. The EPA has proposed adding microplastics and pharmaceuticals to a list of priority contaminants.
President Donald Trump’s administration announced Thursday it wants to fund research on microplastics and pharmaceuticals in public drinking water and examine their potential health impacts. The proposal could help environmental regulators create future drinking water restrictions.

The federal government also announced a $144 million program to measure, research and remove microplastics from the human body as part of the administration’s Make America Healthy Again initiative. The program will prioritize pregnant people, children, patients with chronic conditions and workers in high-exposure environments.

The EPA has proposed adding microplastics and pharmaceuticals to a list of priority contaminants.

The issue is not just Data Centers - but the potential widespread use of AI. Time to Learn ! Receive access to Hillsdale College’s FREE online learning series on artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence (AI) has impacted politics, business, the military, and even how we educate our children.

While AI-powered chatbots and search engines can be quite helpful, artificial intelligence can also be used in harmful and even deadly ways.

And as AI technology rapidly improves and spreads, the threats to personal freedom, privacy, and human dignity will continue to grow. As American citizens, our task is to ensure that AI is used to preserve rather than to destroy liberty.
