The Dalton Beautification Commission, a small, grassroots, volunteer organization has the goal of improving the quality of life in the community by bringing the beauty of nature into the streetscape of Dalton. We design, plant and maintain the Bridge Baskets, Library Planters and Traffic Island gardens in Dalton. During the growing season, we meet each Tuesday morning at the Dalton Methodist churc
h to tend the gardens. This is a social work session filled with fun and camaraderie. Other days during the week, people volunteer to look after bridge baskets and library planters and water as needed. It is very gratifying to plant the flowers, and nurture them encouraging them to develop into colorful gardens that are enjoyed by the community. We are always looking for people to join our multigenerational group.
