YouLead Global Youth Leadership YouLead Global Youth Leadership is designed to connect, cultivate & empower high school students (Juniors and Seniors) in the DFW area.

YouLead Global Youth Leadership Program’s mission is to connect, cultivate, and empower high school Juniors and Seniors throughout the DFW area to make a positive contribution to their communities and sphere of influence. The communities these young leaders impact include not only their local communities but can, and often times do, expand worldwide. There are many youth programs in the area; thes

e programs, however, tend to target kids in a specific city or with a certain ethnic background. YouLead GYL is unique in that we strive to be inclusive regardless of the student’s economic or ethnic background. Through collaborations with various community and business leaders and other diverse organizations, students are given innovative, hands-on experiences through workshops, informative speaking events, exclusive site visits, and participation in community service projects. In essence, we will use the community as a classroom. In addition, students will learn the importance of teamwork, gain real-world leadership insight, and acquire the essential leadership skills they need to persevere and succeed in their academic and professional careers. Program sessions are held monthly on the first Saturday from January through June with a few exceptions. Community and business leaders will host leadership sessions at various locations throughout the DFW area. Program sessions are designed to promote higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills. A schedule of monthly topics has been developed to include:

• YouLead Orientation & Retreat
• Leadership & Emotional Intelligence & Stress Management
• Financial Literacy, Life Skills / Time Management
• Law & Advocacy / Education, Career, & College Talks
• Global Day / Sports & Entertainment / Nonprofits Panel
• STEM, Health Science & Medicine
• Community Service project (TBD by students)
• Logistics / Supply Chain Management
• Arts & Culture
• Graduation Ceremony / Celebration

The goal of each session is to increase students’ knowledge and provide exposure to issues and resources surrounding various topics in an interactive and innovative manner. During these sessions, students practice their leadership skills in public speaking, decision-making and problem-solving in a globally-competitive environment. Students will learn skills in negotiating, listening, team-building, networking, and stepping out of their comfort zone.
