The decisions being made today will shape the opportunities we have tomorrow. Our right to vote, our access to economic opportunity, and our ability to build stronger communities deserve our attention and our action.

TOMORROW, join the NAACP in collaboration with NBLSA and Young People’s Alliance for a powerful panel discussion about our economic future, voting rights, and the impact young people can have in shaping what comes next.

Young people have the power to question, organize, lead, and demand accountability. That power grows when we come together and our civic engagement must continue beyond the ballot box.

HE WENT TO DOCUMENT HISTORY. HISTORY LEFT ITS MARK ON HIM.

On May 30, 2020, Vincent Doyle was photographing protests in Dallas when a police fired projectile struck him in the face, leaving him with serious injuries to his cheekbone and left eye.

His story forces us to confront an uncomfortable truth: “less lethal” does not mean harmless.

When the people documenting events can be seriously injured by the very authorities they are watching, we must ask hard questions about restraint, responsibility, and the protection of civil liberties.

A camera should be able to bear witness without its owner becoming another casualty.

We remember Vincent Doyle because every person has a right to safety, every exercise of public power deserves scrutiny, and every allegation of excessive force deserves a fair and thorough investigation.

Remember the history. Demand accountability. Refuse to normalize violence.

A SAFE SCHOOL IS THE LEAST EVERY STUDENT DESERVES.

No student should have to choose between their education and their safety. Bullying can have lasting consequences, and protecting young people requires more than words. It requires action, accountability, and policies that put students first.

In 2023, the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN) pushed for amendments to Texas’s David’s Law because the fight against bullying must extend beyond the classroom. Every student deserves protection, and every school community deserves the tools to address harm and hold people accountable.

Our young people deserve the opportunity to learn without fear, grow with confidence, and pursue their future with dignity. Protecting students is not optional. It is a responsibility we all share.

When we protect our students, we protect our future.

HONORING INDIGENOUS PEOPLES MEANS HONORING THE TRUTH.

Indigenous peoples have shaped the lands now known as the United States for thousands of years. Their cultures, knowledge, traditions, and communities continue to thrive.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is an opportunity to recognize that enduring presence while confronting the painful realities of colonization, forced removal, cultural suppression, and the lasting consequences of these injustices.

It is also a reminder that Indigenous communities are not merely part of our history. Their rights, sovereignty, leadership, and contributions matter today.

At NGAN, we believe that meaningful justice begins with truth, grows through accountability, and requires a commitment to respecting the dignity and rights of every community.

Today, we honor Indigenous peoples not only with words, but with a renewed commitment to learning, listening, and supporting their right to determine their own futures.

The Next Generation Action Network believes every person deserves a voice and a seat at the table. In November, that voice becomes a ballot.

23 DAYS UNTIL THE MIDTERMS. YOUR VOICE SHOULD NEVER GO UNHEARD.

Imagine having the power to shape your community’s future, and not using it because you weren’t prepared.

On November 3, 2026, voters will help decide who represents them and what policies shape their schools, safety, and daily lives. Preparation is what turns the right to vote into real participation.

Before Election Day:
✅ Check your voter registration
✅ Confirm your state’s deadlines
✅ Review your sample ballot
✅ Research candidates and ballot measures
✅ Choose how you’ll vote: early, by mail, or in person
✅ Know your polling place, hours, and ID rules
✅ Make a plan and bring someone with you

Every eligible voter deserves access to the ballot. Every community deserves to be heard. And every election is a chance to hold leaders accountable.
Our votes shape our lives. Let’s be prepared.

INJUSTICE ANYWHERE IS A THREAT TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE.

Human rights are not privileges. Justice is not a favor. And dignity should never depend on who you are, where you come from, or how much power you hold.

The Next Generation Action Network believes that every person deserves to live free from discrimination, oppression, and injustice. When people are silenced, when rights are denied, and when communities are treated as though their lives matter less, we all have a responsibility to speak up.

We cannot build a just society by looking away from the suffering of others. Accountability must mean something. Equality must extend to everyone. And our commitment to human rights must go beyond words and become action.

At NGAN, we remain committed to organizing, advocating, and standing with communities whose voices are too often ignored. Because justice for one community strengthens justice for us all.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and we’re talking to parents, teachers, pastors, and neighbors.

Your child may be hurting in ways they haven’t said out loud. Bullying can shape a young person’s confidence, friendships, and mental health for years.
Ask the question. Listen to the answer. Believe them.
