Yesterday, community leaders, faith leaders, civil rights organizations, and residents gathered at Grand Prairie City Hall to stand in solidarity with the Muslim community and demand answers regarding the cancellation of an Eid celebration that should have been a moment of joy, unity, and faith.

The press conference brought together the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), CAIR, Faith Power Alliance, and community partners to send a clear message: religious freedom must apply to everyone.

As speakers addressed the crowd, an individual attempted to disrupt the press conference by yelling discriminatory and hateful remarks in the background. Rather than distract from our message, the incident only highlighted the very issue we came to confront—the growing climate of division, intolerance, and hostility that too many communities are experiencing across our country.

The Next Generation Action Network will never back down from standing with marginalized communities. Whether the target is the Black community, the Muslim community, immigrants, LGBTQ individuals, or any group facing discrimination, our position remains the same:

An attack on one community is an attack on us all.

We are deeply disappointed that leaders in Grand Prairie allowed political pressure and fear to overshadow the rights of families who simply wanted to celebrate their faith. Communities deserve leadership that protects freedom—not leadership that caves to intimidation.

Yesterday was not just about a canceled event.

It was about defending the principles of justice, equality, dignity, and religious liberty.

NGAN will continue organizing.
NGAN will continue speaking out.
NGAN will continue fighting for those whose voices are too often ignored.

United by the Spirit of Eid.
United Against Hate.
United for Justice.

🚨 STATEMENT FROM THE NEXT GENERATION ACTION NETWORK 🚨

Today, during jury selection in the Karmelo Anthony trial, we witnessed a deeply troubling development. The prosecution used its final strikes to remove the remaining qualified Black jurors from the jury pool.

The Next Generation Action Network is outraged. A fair trial is a constitutional right, and public confidence in our justice system depends on the belief that juries are selected fairly and without discrimination. The removal of all remaining qualified Black jurors raises serious concerns that cannot and should not be ignored.

While we respect the authority of the court and the judicial process, respect does not require silence. We will continue to closely monitor this case and ensure that our community and people across America remain informed about what is taking place.

We are calling on the court to do the right thing and ensure that Mr. Anthony’s constitutional rights are protected throughout these proceedings.

Justice must be fair. Justice must be impartial. Justice must be for everyone. NGAN remains committed to advocating for transparency, accountability, and a fair trial for Karmelo Anthony.

STAND AGAINST HATE. STAND FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. 🚨

The Next Generation Action Network (NGAN) is proud to stand alongside the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Faith Power Alliance: Advancing Justice Through Faith as we unite in defense of the Muslim community and against the dangerous rise of fear, bigotry, and political intimidation.

What should have been a joyful celebration of Eid for families across North Texas became a troubling example of how fear and division can be used to target a community exercising its right to gather, worship, and celebrate.

We refuse to remain silent.

Join us as we demand answers, transparency, and accountability regarding the cancellation of the Eid celebration in Grand Prairie.

An attack on one faith community is an attack on all of us.

Religious freedom must apply to everyone. We cannot allow hate, fear-mongering, or political pressure to dictate who gets to celebrate their faith and who does not.

As Karmelo Anthony’s trial approaches tomorrow, we know there will be falsehoods, misconceptions, misinformation, and outside noise surrounding this case.

But the Next Generation Action Network remains focused on one truth: rights are not just for some they are for everyone.

Due process is not just for certain people. A fair trial is not just for certain communities. Justice cannot depend on race, public opinion, or social media narratives.

As we enter this critical moment, we are asking our community to stay focused, stay peaceful, and continue standing with this family.

The trial of Karmelo Anthony is scheduled to begin June 1.

The Next Generation Action Network stands firm in one truth: laws are not just for some races. Rights are not just for some people. Due process is not just for a select few it belongs to all.

No matter your race, color, creed, or background, every person deserves fairness, dignity, and the right to a fair trial.

Let’s stand together for justice, peace, and due process.

Justice for All, Not Justice for Some.

Today, the Next Generation Action Network was honored to stand at Dallas City Hall alongside District 4 Council Member Maxie Johnson and community leaders to advocate for permanent supportive housing and critical investments for veterans and our unhoused community.

For years, Southern Dallas communities have been promised resources, housing solutions, and equitable investment. Today marks a historical step toward ensuring those promises become reality.

As an organization founded in the heart of 75216, NGAN understands firsthand the importance of investing in our people, protecting our most vulnerable neighbors, and creating pathways toward dignity and stability.

NGAN remains committed to pushing the City of Dallas to address the housing crisis with urgency, compassion, and accountability. We believe housing is a human right, and every person deserves the opportunity to live with dignity.

Words have power. But action changes lives.

Dallas is at a crossroads.

This moment is bigger than politics, personalities, or protecting a building. This is about protecting the future of our city, protecting working families, protecting city workers, and ensuring Dallas has the financial stability to move forward.

The people of Dallas deserve leadership rooted in truth, transparency, courage, and vision not distractions, chaos, and political theater.

We must fight for our city, not just City Hall.
