Bigfoot has been spotted at Poston Park... and we need your help tracking him down!

Grab the family and follow the clues along the Lake Loop, an approximately 2-mile, family-friendly hike, as you search the trails for signs of Bigfoot. And there’s more happening back at Base Camp! Stick around for vendors, food trucks, activities and plenty of Bigfoot fun for all ages.

We had almost 120 folks join us for Senior Bingo on Monday, and we were especially excited to see so many new faces in the crowd!

This month, we switched things up with a Cozy Cup prize theme, and our winners went home with some fun goodies to enjoy as we head toward cooler weather.

Now we need YOUR ideas for September! What prize theme would you love to see at our next Bingo? Drop your ideas in the comments — we may just use one!

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Gaston Cup!

Congratulations and a huge THANK YOU to every team, coach, player, and supporter who helped make last week’s tournament a great one! We appreciate all of the teams who came out, competed hard, and represented their schools throughout the week.

We also want to recognize some of the outstanding individual performances from this year’s Gaston Cup!

⭐ ALL CUP TEAM ⭐
The All Cup Team recognizes the “all-stars” of the tournament from each team, as selected by their team’s coach(es). Two players from each participating team and three players from each championship team were selected, for a total of 17 All Cup Team players in each division!

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY! 🏆

It all comes down to this! Join us Saturday, August 22 for the final day of the Gaston County Cup, with games kicking off at 11 AM and championship matches closing out the tournament at George Poston Park in Gastonia.

It's time for Senior Bingo!!

Join us Monday, August 24 at 3 PM at the Gaston County Senior Center for an hour of bingo, prizes, and fun! Bingo is open to ages 50+, so bring a friend and come play with us!

We’re also trying something NEW this month and introducing themed bingo prizes! Each month's bingo will feature a different prize theme to make winning even more fun.

We want you to help us pick future themes! What kind of themed prizes would you love to win? Drop your ideas in the comments — we may use your suggestion at an upcoming bingo!

The Gaston County Cup has been a great week of soccer so far! We’ve loved seeing the competition, teamwork, and support out at George Poston Park. Here are a few shots from Monday and Tuesday’s matches!

☀️ IMPORTANT SCHEDULE UPDATE: Due to the heat, ALL Wednesday and Thursday games have been delayed by ONE HOUR.

• 5:00 PM games ➡️ 6:00 PM
• 7:00 PM games ➡️ 8:00 PM

Come out and catch Round 2 of the tournament and cheer on our local teams!

Admission: $8 per person — CASH ONLY
Teachers & school staff: FREE with badge
Kids 10 & under: FREE

🚣‍♂️ new access points to Lake Wylie
🚵‍♂️ 6 miles of hiking and biking trails (and connections to the Carolina Thread Trail)
🐾 hundreds of acres of ecological protection
