Our Goal

Architect George Kessler designed Garrett Park in 1915, and by 1920 it was known as one of the most beautiful in the Dallas park system. Unfortunately, most of the Kessler-designed features were removed in subsequent decades, leaving the park as little more than an open field with a small playground.

Friends of Garrett Park is working with the Dallas Parks Foundation and the City of Dallas to restore the park to an updated version of Kessler’s design from 1915. The design, pictured above, includes a landscaped promenade, shaded pavilion, basketball court, and improved playground equipment.
