Summer break does not have to mean stepping away from learning. Asiyah took her girls to Dallas Public Library's Summer Bash at the Pleasant Grove branch to kick off SMART Summer 2026 with free books, games, coloring, and a visit from the fire department. A perfect way to start the season.

The energy was unmatched at our first family engagement event over the weekend. The whole team headed to 11 MAX Indoor Fun Park - Farmers Branch, TX for an afternoon of dodgeball, trampoline basketball, mechanical bull riding, and just about every other excuse to get a little wild. Our mentors also led a make-your-own-slime session that had everyone up to their elbows in glitter. Bringing families together is part of how we walk alongside our youth, and this was a beautiful first chapter.

There is something about a fresh haircut that just puts a little extra pep in your step. Stedman made sure Donte was ready for summer, clippers and McDonald's included. Our mentors pay attention to all of it, and sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do for a kid is make sure they feel good in their own skin.

Kindergarten, complete. Justin, Kayla, and Kylie all walked across that stage last week, and their Friends were right there with them. Dezirae celebrated with her girls, including Kayla who took home the Amazing Effort award. Stedman made sure Justin's big day had a proper finish with a trip to Pie Tap Pizza. Three kids, one milestone, and a whole lot of road still ahead.
