Happy Juneteenth! 🖤
Today we honor and commemorate the day that the last enslaved African Americans were freed on June 19th, 1865, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day honors their sacrifice, their resilience, and the pursuit of liberation—past and present.
In 2022, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, Ms. Opal Lee, joined us for our Listen & Learn speaker series. See the full conversation: https://youtu.be/WtTpmCpzIX4?si=e0fgnQZxWZ7Q7ATE
