A few weeks ago, we bid farewell to an incredible leader, Robert Poland. Robert’s journey with City Year began as a Corps Member at City Year Miami, and he eventually brought his passion for service and education to City Year Dallas, where he served as an Impact Director.

From day one, Robert has exemplified what it means to serve with purpose, making a lasting impact on our students, schools, and the entire City Year community. His leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our mission have inspired so many.

Thank you, Robert, for your years of service, for your heart, and for your dedication. We wish you nothing but the best as you embark on your next chapter!

¡Qué noche increíble! Last month, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Night with our community, and it was filled with culture, connection, and fun!

A huge thank you to Social Joy® by , Havana Cafe, and the Lonely Hearts Foundation for helping make this event unforgettable. Attendees enjoyed delicious food from Havana Cafe, explored Hispanic culture through interactive stations, and wrapped up the night with an energetic Zumba session led by the amazing Martha! 💃🏽

We were also honored to have Roberto Reyes, Dallas College’s Associate Dean of Success Coaching for Special Populations & Academics, as our keynote speaker. Roberto truly inspired us all with his words.

One of our Corps Members, A’Mira, had the chance to snap a photo with the amazing Sha’Carri Richardson during a pep rally at one of our partner schools. While our Corps Members focus on supporting students, it’s always special to see familiar faces cheering on Dallas schools too!
