Polk Youth Services, LLC Polk Youth Services provides support to youth in DHS Foster Care through ILP in Polk, Yamhill, and Marion Counties.

We also serve youth statewide involved with OYA, helping them build life skills, stability, and independence.

🎧 This week in our OYA program, we’re focusing on emotions.

Not just anger.
Not just frustration.

But the emotions underneath.

Disappointment.
Shame.
Grief.
Fear.

We’re using music as a way to explore what’s hard to say out loud.

Sometimes it’s easier to point to a lyric than to explain what you’re feeling.

Emotional awareness is not weakness.
It’s a skill.

When youth can name their emotions,
they’re less likely to act on them impulsively.

Growth starts with understanding what’s really going on inside.
