After many years of meaningful and life-changing service, the assignment I have been entrusted with as Executive Director of The TurnAround Agenda and Pastor of Outreach (Missions & Evangelism) at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship is approaching its intended fulfillment.
I share this now with a full heart because the relationships and people connected to this journey mean far too much to me to let this moment pass without proper acknowledgment. As of next week, this chapter will arrive at its natural completion, and I wanted those who have walked alongside me to hear it directly — with gratitude, intentionality, and deep appreciation.
It has been a genuine privilege to serve alongside an exceptional team of leaders, staff, Kingdom Servants (volunteers), and community partners committed to developing leaders, strengthening families, and discipling the church to impact the world.
My journey began as a part-time contractor while attending seminary full-time. Over the years, I was entrusted to serve in roles including Coordinator, Director, Executive Director, Pastor, and Elder. Each season deepened my desire not only to continue learning and growing personally, but to help others learn and grow as well — not only to make an impact, but to help others recognize their capacity to make an impact too.
What I did not fully anticipate when I started was how much this work would shape me. I came hoping to make a difference and discovered that God was using every experience, relationship, opportunity, and challenge to develop something in me that could not have been built any other way. My family and I carry that gratitude deeply.
There is something truly sacred about having people pour genuine care, encouragement, wisdom, and belief into your life — and then being given the opportunity to pour that same investment into others. That has been one of the greatest gifts of this journey.
This is not a farewell. As this chapter comes to a close, I move forward with faith, gratitude, and a continued sense of calling — confident that the seeds planted throughout this season will continue to bear fruit.
As I enter this next season, I look forward to exploring opportunities in authorship, workshops, speaking, coaching, mentoring, and strategic collaboration — sharing lessons, principles, and experiences gathered over the years in ways that can continue serving individuals, organizations, churches, leaders, and communities.
To my team — both present and former staff — thank you for entrusting me to help lead and steward not only your careers, but also your hearts, dreams, growth, and development throughout the years. Your gifts, integrity, creativity, sacrifice, and commitment consistently made me look far better than I ever could have on my own. So much of the impact, growth, and success experienced throughout the years was the result of your faithfulness, excellence, and wholehearted willingness to serve.
To the executive team — both present and former — thank you for the opportunity to collaborate, strategize, encourage, equip, grow, and serve alongside one another throughout the years. It was a blessing to witness the incredible ministry impact, programming, leadership, and decisions that emerged from this collective group as we sought to lead our teams well and faithfully carry the vision forward. I am better because of the relationships, wisdom, sharpening, and experiences we shared together.
To our Kingdom Servants (volunteers) — thank you for the countless ways you graciously and sacrificially gave of your time, gifts, talents, energy, and love. Many of you served faithfully behind the scenes as the hidden force helping make so much of the ministry impact possible. It was truly a blessing and privilege to pastor you and witness God do mighty things in and through us together.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Tony Evans, who served as my pastor for over 23 years and whose leadership and legacy have shaped my life in ways I will carry forever, and to Pastor Jonathan Evans, my pastor, for his leadership, brotherhood, trust, and the opportunity to continue supporting the vision of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship while utilizing my gifts and experiences over the years to help pour into men, leaders, families, and the broader community.
To the elders — thank you for your brotherhood, encouragement, prayers, wisdom, accountability, and the many ways you poured into me over the years. Your support, belief in me, and willingness to challenge me to embrace my strengths, gifts, and calling during different seasons of life and leadership have meant more than words can adequately express.
And to my family — my wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family — thank you for your patience, encouragement, sacrifice, and for being a safe and soft landing place after long, emotionally, mentally, and physically draining days of ministry throughout the years. You have remained there through thick and thin, through highs and lows, and through every season along the way. I am honored, humbled, and forever grateful for your unconditional love, prayers, and support. I look forward to this new season together as we continue seeking the Lord for the next assignment ahead.
To every person who has been part of this journey — thank you. Truly and deeply, with love and gratitude. 🙏🏾 ❤️
