Why CyberSecurity... Why Now?
Challenge According to a recent study conducted by ISC2, there will be a 1.8M talent shortage by 2022, that’s an increase of 25% per year, since 2015. This is a significant global issue.
Cause: A combination of lack of corporate sponsored programs for kids, insufficient college-bound STEM students, a shortage of colleges with cybersecurity programs, a rapidly changing industry, and an increasing need for more security driven by cyber-crime, nation-state attacks, and your average ‘computer kid’.
Effect: According to Focal Point Insights, cybercrime will cost more the $6 trillion annually by 2026. When you consider the damage to corporate brands (like the Equifax breach that impacted 148M) from an economic perspective, you realize there is and will continue to be a high demand and low supply of qualified cybersecurity professionals.
