BREAKING NEWS: Trey Athletes is proud to announce our new partnership with the University of North Texas (UNT) -- This summer, Trey is working with UNT Athletics to launch our Athlete Transition Program. Through post-sport career development and advising, internship matching, and bespoke athlete transition support, Trey is empowering college athletes to build the requisite professional skills needed to thrive in their lives post-graduation. In collaboration with existing athlete development programming, and utilizing Trey's curriculum designed specifically for college athletes, Trey will support graduating UNT athletes who belong to a racial or ethnic minority group and/or who are first-generation college students. ⭐️🖤EQUALITY SNEAKERS🖤⭐️

In 2017, LeBron James wore a pair of LeBron 15s with “equality” written in gold. After the game, LeBron said to press “Us as Americans, no matter the skin color, no matter the race, no matter who you are, I think we all have to understand that having equal rights and being able to stand for something and speaking for something and keeping the conversation going [is important].”

In order for there to be racial equity, the conversation has to continue. As athletes, you have a voice and a platform to use to change the world for the better. This , we believe there are special athletes like LeBron James out there doing just that.

🖤BLACK ATHLETES ARE PART OF BLACK HISTORY🖤

Not too long ago, black athletes weren’t able to play on the same field as white ones. It took courageous players to bring sports to where they are today, but there is still work to be done.

We have seen athletes stepping out for racial equity throughout history from Jesse Owens and Jackie Robinson to Muhammad Ali and Lebron James. Athletes have a special voice in the community, and black athletes play an integral part in black history.

Being a student athlete can be stressful. On top of having to balance school and sport, many athletes feel an enormous amount of pressure to perform. When they don’t meet up to expectations, that can be devastating. Trey Mentor, Paulina De Melendez, discusses her struggle with letting her success define her. Paulina advises student athletes to look at points of failure as opportunities to grow instead of beating yourself up about them. You are still valuable regardless of your performance!
