Great news!

IEA Inc., a civil and structural engineering firm has been selected by Dallas County for a feasibility study connecting Bachman Lake Trail to the Campion Trail.

From IEA:

Dallas County | Bachman Lake Trail Study/Connection

IEA was selected to conduct a study from Bachman Lake Trail to Campion Trail to determine the feasibility of connecting them for a multi-use trail. In this study, IEA will look at floodplain impacts, bridge crossings, community access, connections to transit, parking, and other amenities.

A first for the Bachman Greenbelt: Join Friends of Bachman Lake and UNT for an evening of glow-in-the-dark fun on Monday, June 15 from 8pm-10pm.

Sheets will be illuminated in black light to attract nocturnal insects which you will be able to see and identify using the iNaturalist app. Be sure to download the app if you don't have it yet!

Meet at the gate by the Cochran Chapel Rd cul-de-sac where you will be directed to park.

Wear long pants
Bring a flashlight
Water
Insect Repellent
Close-toed Shoes

Join Greenspace Dallas at Bachman Creek Greenbelt Nature Trail for a volunteer clean up and trail maintenance work. After the cleanup, please join us at On Rotation Brewery where your first drink is free! They have great lunch options, so stick around and connect with other volunteers!

Meet at the trailhead located BEHIND Embassy Suites. Walk to the right of Embassy Suites, down a ramp, and then head behind the hotel. You will see the Greenspace tent. Please see the parking map in the images to see where volunteers are allowed to park.

• What to wear:
We will be working outdoors in areas that have poison ivy. Please wear boots or sturdy, closed-toe shoes, pants, and socks that come up to the calves. Due to poison ivy and mosquitos, we do not recommend ankle socks, yoga pants, or leggings.

• Other personal items to bring:
Water bottle(s), sunscreen, bug repellent, sunglasses, and snacks

• Greenspace Dallas will provide:
- Trash bags and grabbers
- Safety and first aid materials
- Back up bug spray and sunscreen
- Work gloves
- Water cooler to refill your water bottle

All ages welcome, dogs too!
