This month we celebrate every family on every path to parenthood, and we want to take a moment for all of the surrogates and donors who make LGBTQ family building even possible.

For so many in our community, the dream of becoming a parent only becomes real because someone chose to show up with extraordinary generosity and selflessness. Surrogates carry our hopes. Egg donors, s***m donors, and embryo donors give a piece of themselves so that families can begin. They are not a footnote in the story of LGBTQ parenthood. They are the heroes of it. 🏆

Just don’t expect it to be quiet at our table. 🏳️‍🌈

We started Families Out Loud because we couldn’t find a table like this one. We were two dads trying to figure out how to build a family that looked like ours, and the guidance, the community, the representation, it just wasn’t there. So we built it, with love.

And we built it right and with the right people in the room.

No “but how will you explain two dads to a little kid.”

No “aren’t you worried they’ll get bullied for having two moms?”

No side-eye, no hesitation, no one in the room quietly questioning your choices. Just real people, real talk, and a community that already decided you belong here before you even walked in the door.

Gay, straight, bi, trans, q***r, single, partnered, this table was always meant for all of you.

Families Out Loud here. A question we get at almost every event: “Can I really do IVF while working a demanding job?”

Short answer: yes, and there’s more than one way to do it. Some intended parents step back from work to focus on the process. Most find a balance. Neither is wrong, but if balance is your goal, we have a lot to share.

Halfway through our 2026 event tour and we’re feeling it! ♥️🫶🏻

Dallas. Chicago. New York. Three cities, 24+ hours of programming and connection, and 55 future parents who took their first real step toward building their family in a room with people who get it.

That last part is what keeps us going. Family building is hard to navigate alone. It’s a lot less heavy when you’re standing next to someone who’s been there, or someone walking the same path right beside you.
