White Rock Lake Foundation The White Rock Lake Foundation is instrumental in presenting the case for the rescue and improvement of White Rock Lake.

The White Rock Lake Foundation shall act as the community steward for White Rock Lake and Park. The purpose of the Foundation is to assist the Park and Recreation Department in restoration, improvement, maintenance, and preservation of the lake's natural health and beauty for the benefit of the people and wildlife. All improvements shall be approved by the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Board and be consistent with the guidelines set by the city of Dallas and established in the Master Plan.

Member Spotlight: Michael Blackwell 🌟
Since returning to Dallas in 2013, Michael and his family have built their lives around East Dallas and White Rock Lake. From biking the lake to community involvement throughout the area, White Rock has become home in every sense of the word.

Michael currently serves as Senior Managing Director for the Dallas office of Mill Creek Residential Trust and remains actively involved in several community organizations across Dallas.

Bird of the Month: Painted Bunting 🌿🐦
One of the most colorful visitors you may spot around White Rock Lake this time of year is the Painted Bunting. Known for its bright blue, green, yellow, and red feathers, this little bird is often called a “flying rainbow.”

As spring turns to summer, these beautiful birds return to Texas and remind us just how much life and color surrounds the lake this season

Keep your eyes and ears open on your next walk, you might be lucky enough to spot one.
