Service The organization also provides al stipend to support a staff doctor at a local hospital.

Medical equipment, supplies and computers for a school for the deaf are are being provided but must be replenished on a monthly basis. In addition, MEDS sponsors an Early Education Program that provides a meal and lessons for the children of the area.

On Sunday, July 12, Johnny Lewis, a member of the MEDS family moved on from his earthly “to do list” to his next assignment. Johnny was a resident of Fort Worth, TX and first teamed up with the MEDS family in 2023 when he took his first trip to Kenya. Johnny took many soccer balls and handed them out to elementary aged and older youth who were ecstatic. They really loved “Mr. Johnny”. He was an amateur photographer and took countless pictures to document this trip. He also made sure that internet access was available to one of the schools on the visit. During the interim before he again joined the mission to Kenya in 2025, he continued his busy role as a community representative and organizer, a passion both he and his late wife, Shirley, shared. He is survived by his daughter, Erin. Johnny worked tirelessly for others even when it seemed that he had given all that he could. Johnny, we will miss you!

Praise God for the life of Johnny Lewis who traveled to Kenya with MEDS three times. Yesterday morning, Johnny went home to be with his Lord and his dear wife Shirley. Rest well Johnny, a good and faithful servant.
