The Journal of Language, Culture, and Religion 7.2 is out now! https://jlcr.diu.edu/issue/14716-vol-7-issue-2-2026

The articles in 7.2 include topics ranging from sandal divination in eastern Africa and Egyptian funerary texts to refugee language attachments in Clarkston, trauma healing through Ruth, and Gospel object lessons, with three reviews.

“What ties it together is a conviction we hold at DIU: language carries what people love most, including their faith, and it deserves careful attention when lives are disrupted. Every article is free to read, and we hope pastors, translators, students, and anyone who works alongside displaced communities will find something here to take with them.” - Kendra L. Duran, Ph.D.

"For Dr. Leon Neto, a current PhD student at DIU, music is more than an art form. It is an expression of worship, a way people communicate, and a bridge for sharing the gospel."

Happy World Teachers' Day!

We're proud to have an incredible global presence through Dallas International University, with programs spanning across Uganda, Brazil, Ukraine, Russia, and Indonesia.

Our faculty members, like Dr. Larry Jones, are truly making a difference. He's teaching a Bible Translation course in our joint program in Indonesia, Universitas Kristen Indonesia Tomohon (UKIT), empowering students to strengthen Bible translation capacity in one of the most linguistically diverse nations on earth!

We’ve been putting some miles on the road this fall! 💜

Dallas International University has been participating in the statewide TACRAO high school college fair circuit, and we’re loving the opportunity to introduce DIU to more students!

From DFW to Austin, San Antonio, and Houston, our fall recruiting events have connected us with hundreds of students exploring what comes next. We’re excited to help them imagine how their gifts, faith, and education could make an impact around the world.

With a great table, fresh materials, and a team that loves this university, we’re proud to share what God is doing at DIU and invite future students to be part of it. Every conversation is a chance to meet someone who could become part of our DIU family!

And we’re still going! More stops are ahead in Rockwall, Plano, Ovilla, and DeSoto. If you see our purple table, come say hello! 👋

Thank you to our recruitment team and everyone helping us spread the word. There is so much to be hopeful about at DIU!

Celebrating the People Who Make DIU Exceptional

Our Annual Faculty and Staff Inservice is an opportunity to come together for worship, collaboration, and preparation for the year ahead. It is also a meaningful time to recognize the dedication of those who faithfully serve Dallas International University and its mission.

This year, we honored the following faculty and staff members for their years of service:

5 Years: Richard Boutwell, Rebecca Robertson, and Philip Troutman

10 Years: Heather Beal and Andrew Eatough

20 Years: Michael Boutin

We also celebrated the recipients of this year’s Outstanding Awards:

Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year: Michael Boutin

Outstanding Staff Member of the Year: Jonathan Dailey

We are grateful for the talent, commitment, and faithful service each of these individuals brings to the DIU community. Their work helps equip students to serve communities around the world.

Please join us in congratulating each of this year’s honorees!

Happy Sukkot!

This week, we’re celebrating Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles (or Feast of Booths).

To mark the occasion, we’ve set up a sukkah on campus, and we invite our DIU community to join us each evening for a time of Scripture reading, reflection, and fellowship.

Sukkot is a weeklong Jewish festival that celebrates the autumn harvest while remembering the temporary shelters used by the Israelites during their journey after leaving Egypt.

Come take a moment to slow down, gather together, and reflect on God’s faithfulness.

Join us in the sukkah each evening for Scripture reading!

On behalf of all of DIU student, faculty, and staff, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for being a beacon of hope and inspiration, fueling our journey with your unwavering community support throughout the years!

After receiving mailed and hand-delivered checks, along with several additional last-minute gifts, our total has grown to $41,140. We have officially exceeded our $40,000 goal again this year!

Thank you to everyone who gave, shared our campaign, and prayed for its success. Your generosity will help provide scholarships for DIU students as they prepare to serve and make a lasting difference in communities around the world.

If you did not have an opportunity to give during North Texas Giving Day, it is not too late. You can still make a gift here: northtexasgivingday.org/organization/diu

We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and continued belief in the mission of Dallas International University.
