Dallas 2030 District

Dallas 2030 District The goal is to create a groundbreaking high-performance building district in Downtown Dallas There are no penalties for not achieving District 2030 goals.

The Dallas 2030 District is a collaborative, nationally recognized, but local community of high performance buildings in central Dallas that aims to cost-effectively reduce energy and water consumption, and improve air quality, while increasing competitiveness in the business environment and owners' returns on investment. High performance buildings have proven track records of simultaneously incre

asing business and property profitability, reducing environmental impacts, and improving occupant health. The Dallas 2030 District seeks to prove that high performing buildings are the most profitable buildings in Dallas. District Members will do this by developing realistic, measurable, and innovative strategies to assist property owners, managers, and tenants in meeting their goals. The overwhelming objective of the District is to keep properties and businesses competitive while operating buildings more efficiently, thereby reducing the costs and the environmental impacts of building operations. This groundbreaking project will keep Dallas competitive and ensure a healthy and livable city in 2030.The Dallas 2030 District is collaborative effort by property owners and managers, community stakeholders, and professional stakeholders.Property owners and managers are voluntarily committing their properties to Dallas 2030 District goals. The goals are an aggregate target for the District, not for any specific building. District 2030 will report annually on its district-level achievements in reducing energy and water consumption; individual building performance data will not be disclosed.

💚 Show the planet some love this Valentine’s Day 🌎

Valentine’s Day is a great reminder that love can go beyond people—it can include the planet we all share. Small, thoughtful choices can make a big difference.

Here are a few simple ways to celebrate more sustainably:
🌱 Choose experiences instead of things
🌿 Support local and sustainable businesses
🌳 Give a gift that gives back (like planting trees or donating)
🍽️ Try a plant-forward meal

When our community makes small changes, the impact adds up. This Valentine’s Day, let’s show the planet a little extra love. ❤️

Excited to share that we are having our first virtual session for 2026.

Available Programs and Incentives for CRE Facilities

Join the Dallas 2030 District in collaboration with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and ONCOR for a virtual session on available programs for commercial real estate facilities. In this session, we will be discussing programs that will help building owners and managers to achieve 2030 goals through current incentives, low to no cost programs, and other resources. NCTCOG will present a variety of transportation and air quality, electric vehicle infrastructure, public transportation and more.

Oncor Electric Delivery is the largest electric utility in Texas, serving more than 10 million customers. Oncor is characterized by its solid commitment to helping its customers improve their energy efficiency, and they run some of the largest incentive programs in the state. We will discuss an overview of the commercial incentive programs and updates and changes 2025 vs. 2026.

🍂 Thinking About a More Sustainable Thanksgiving?

The holidays are a perfect reminder of what matters most — gratitude, connection, and taking care of the world we share. This year, a few simple choices can make your Thanksgiving both meaningful and eco-friendly.

🌱 Choose local + seasonal ingredients
They’re fresher, support nearby growers, and reduce your carbon footprint.

♻️ Cut down on food waste
Plan portions realistically, get creative with leftovers, and compost what you can.

🍽️ Use real dishes + cloth napkins
It feels more special and keeps single-use plastics out of landfills.

✨ Decorate with nature
Pumpkins, herbs, branches, citrus, and fall leaves make beautiful, biodegradable décor.

🚗 Make transportation mindful
Carpool, walk if you can, or host closer to home to reduce emissions.

Sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated — it just takes intention. Small choices add up, and they help us celebrate the holiday with purpose and care.

Wishing everyone a warm, joyful, and sustainable Thanksgiving! 🧡🌿

🌎 Celebrating a Decade of Sustainable Impact! 💚

Yesterday, we celebrated 10 years of the Dallas 2030 District with our incredible partners — USGBC Texas and Texas PACE Authority!

It was a day full of inspiration and connection — from our building tour and panel discussion to a fun happy hour bringing together sustainability leaders and supporters from across Dallas.

For the past decade, we’ve worked together to advance energy efficiency, water conservation, and high-performance buildings across our city — and this milestone reminds us how much we can achieve when we collaborate for a sustainable future.

Here’s to the next 10 years of impact and innovation! 🙌🌱

Today we remember Dr. Jane Goodall, who passed away at 91. 🌍🐒

Her work with chimpanzees transformed science, but her true legacy is in her tireless advocacy for conservation, climate action, and protecting the natural world. She inspired generations to care more deeply for animals, people, and the planet.

Let’s honor her by carrying her mission forward — with hope, compassion, and action. 💚

"Dr. Goodall's discoveries as an ethologist revolutionized science, and she was a tireless advocate for the protection and restoration of our natural world," the Jane Goodall Institute said.
