Community Tax Centers Dallas Community Tax Centers offer free tax prep to low to moderate income individuals and families.

The Dallas Community Tax Centers is a Foundation Communities program that returns millions of dollars to the local economy by helping low- to moderate-income families take better control of their finances. During the tax season, IRS-certified volunteers offer free tax help to individuals and families who earn less than $60,000 a year. Additionally, CTC is helping develop a scalable model for financial education and coaching that can connect low-income individuals and families with helpful benefits and community resources โ€” and teach them the management skills to keep more of the money they earn.

Today, we say goodbye to our Senior Volunteer Coordinator, Johnathan.

For the past 8 years, Johnathan has been an important part of Foundation Communitiesโ€™ North Texas programs โ€” first as a volunteer and Site Manager with Arlington Tax Centers, and for the past 6 years with Dallas Community Tax Centers.

If youโ€™ve ever visited one of our tax sites, chances are youโ€™ve seen Johnathan not only supporting volunteers but preparing taxes and helping clients himself. From recruiting volunteers and helping train them before tax season to making sure Uber rides were arranged so our Southern Sector sites had the volunteer support they needed, Johnathan has had an immense reach across our program.

Over the years, he has helped more than 1,600 volunteers become part of our VITA program and has consistently shown up wherever he was needed. His dedication and commitment to serving our Dallas community have made a lasting impact, and he will be greatly missed.

We are incredibly proud of all Johnathan has contributed to DCTC and excited to see him continue serving the DFW community on an even larger scale. ๐Ÿ’™
