Doing good and spreading peace and love in Kelci's memory through scholarships, donations to non-profits, and good deeds. On July 24, 2012, Kelci Gibbons passed away unexpectedly due to a car accident, and to honor Kelci and to do good in her memory, Kelci's family established The Kelci Ever After Do Good Fund (administered by the Luzerne Foundation). The fund distributes grants to non-profit organizations emphasizing things Kelci would have appreciated, such as art, environmental, youth programs, and food security. Additionally, scholarships are awarded for special interests. Preference for scholarships are given to students in need who are pursuing their passion, or figuring things out, and exemplify her spirit (college is an option, but not the only one). The Kelci Ever After 6K run/2K memory walk was established and executed for 6 years from 2013 to 2018 at Frances Slocum State Park to benefit the fund. While the official run has ended we encourage others to go out and run, walk, hike, or do whatever to remember and celebrate her beautiful life (and of course to honor other missed loved ones as well.)
