TMDA Member Advisory

We’ve received reports of organized theft activity targeting high-end UTV units at dealerships in our region.

While these incidents have been reported outside of Texas at this time, we believe it’s important to proactively remind our members to review security procedures and remain vigilant.

Organized groups often move across state lines and operate quickly. Now is a good time to:
• Review after-hours lot security and access controls
• Confirm lighting and surveillance systems are functioning
• Secure keys and access credentials
• Verify tracking systems (if installed) are operational
• Encourage staff to report suspicious activity immediately

If your dealership experiences suspicious activity, contact local law enforcement right away and consider notifying TMDA so we can monitor patterns and keep members informed.

TMDA remains committed to protecting and supporting Texas powersports dealers. We will continue monitoring and provide updates as appropriate.

The conversations didn’t stop when the TMDA Conference wrapped - and that’s exactly the point.

We appreciated having industry leaders like Dave McMahon in the room, engaging with dealers, asking the right questions, and helping move important conversations forward.

Dave’s recap captured what made this year’s conference special: not just the sessions, but the shared experience. Dealers bringing full teams. Candid discussions around leadership, operations, and the realities dealerships are navigating right now. And the kind of networking that actually leads to ideas being exchanged - not just business cards.
