The 2026 Dallas Youth Brass Band Summer Institute is in the books! We had an amazing time working with so many talented young players all week in our DYBB High School band, middle school band, percussion ensemble, and our massed band. It was a terrific week of music making.

Huge thank you to James McNair Bell Trumpets Bell Music for coming in to give a masterclass on how to play test an instrument to the young musicians. Truly insightful information for anyone in attendance.

Keep an eye out for our next youth brass band camp, coming this fall!

The band had an amazing time performing Star Wars once again last night! This time at ED Walker Middle School in Dallas ISD! The students absolutely loved the hearing Star Wars live from the band and interacting with the players in the time we were there! It has been a great couple weeks performing all over the DFW metroplex and inspiring the next generation of young musicians. ♥️

We had a fantastic time at our concert at Fowler Middle School last night! Thank you to everyone who came out to have a listen and to the Fowler band staff for hosting us!

One more chance next week to hear our Star Wars program at ED Walker Middle School on Tuesday, May 12th!

Summer time is right around the corner and you know what that means!? The Dallas Youth Brass Band will be hosting its summer institute June 8-11, and I hope you will join us! All upcoming 7th through 12th graders are welcome!! Check out more info on our website!

2026 Texas Brass Festival Champions 🎺🏆

On Saturday, we were awarded first place in the "Best march" competition. Special congrats to our Flugelhorn and Baritone soloists and on winning the "Best Soloist" prizes as well as our fantastic percussion team for winning the "Best Section" award. ♥️

It was wonderful to see so many bands taking part and to continue to build the event in its 4th year. Having four youth brass bands from around Texas was an amazing addition to the event this year. Special shoutout to our high school and middle school youth bands who both gave fantastic performances of very challenging music.

Congratulations to every band on giving some amazing performances, and to all prize winners. See you next year!

First weekend of the Dallas Youth Brass Band spring cycle is in the books! It was amazing to see so many talented young musicians take part and we are looking forward to more next weekend! 🎺🥁

What a wonderful time we had at our November Clinic and Concert! Our youth band students worked very hard and put on an amazing concert in just two days!

We hope to see everyone at our Texas Brass Festival Cycle starting in February!
