We're sharing a few things we're running low on this week, and as always, we could use a little help from our community!

From canned goods for our pantry to hygiene items and easy-to-open meals for our homeless neighbors, these are all things we use regularly.

If you're out shopping this week and can pick up an extra item or two, we would be so grateful!

📍 Donation Drop-Off Hours:

Monday & Wednesday: 11 AM – 1 PM

Tuesday & Thursday: 9 AM – 12 PM

40 years ago this October, something began in Dallas that no one could have imagined would still be changing lives four decades later.
In 1986, local churches came together with a simple idea: our neighbors needed help beyond Christmas.
From that need, Dallas Christian Ministry was born.
The newspaper clipping pictured here is from January 1987—the earliest article we've been able to find, written just after our very first Christmas.
A lot has changed since then. Our name. Our buildings. Our programs. The number of families we serve.
But one thing hasn't changed:
Neighbors helping neighbors.
This October, we're celebrating 40 years, and all month long we're going to take you back through the people, places and stories that brought us here.

Dallas High Shoals Christian Social Ministry is now accepting applications for our 2026 Christmas Assistance Program.

Christmas assistance is available to qualifying families and individuals in our service area of Dallas, High Shoals, Stanley, and Alexis

Before applying, please make sure you meet the qualifications listed in the application and have all required information ready.

Hunger may not always be visible, but it is happening right here in our community.
Every week, we meet families who are doing everything they can and still need a little help putting food on the table. This year alone, Dallas High Shoals Christian Social Ministry has already distributed more than 500,000 pounds of food to our neighbors.
Today, on Hunger Action Day, we’re asking you to take action with us. Donate food. Volunteer. Give. Share our story. Even the smallest action can help put food on a neighbor’s table.
