Through our DIFF Inside Film education program, we put working directors, writers, producers, and actors in the same room as young artists who are still deciding whether a life in film is possible. We give students an opportunity to explore those possibilities. Real-life stories of filmmaking professionals. Practical answers from industry insiders to student questions about the path to career success. Students and filmmakers, face-to-face.

ABOUT DIFF INSIDE FILM
Inspired by a program at the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles, DIFF Inside Film is a screening and talk series that gives North Texas film students, aspiring filmmakers, and film lovers the chance to watch a film and then interact, face-to-face, with the people who made it. Guest speakers have included directors, writers, producers, actors, and industry executives from Dallas, across the U.S., and beyond.
Curated and moderated by DIFF Artistic Director James Faust, every screening and Q&A is offered completely free of charge — now in its fourth year, welcoming movie lovers of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds.
WHY IT MATTERS
North Texas is full of talent — film students at high schools, community colleges, and universities across the region who are hungry to write, shoot, edit, or act their way into the industry. What they lack isn't ambition, it's access: to mentors, to working professionals, to proof that a film career is a path worth pursuing.
DIFF Inside Film helps close that gap — every screening is a night when a student can ask a real filmmaker a real question and walk out believing their own story is worth telling.
