This week, The Rotary Club of Paulding County was fortunate to donate $1,500 to Alternative Baseball, an organization dedicated to providing individuals with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball in an inclusive, supportive, and competitive environment.

Alternative Baseball was founded with the belief that everyone deserves the chance to experience America’s favorite pastime. Through adaptive baseball programs, players of different abilities can learn the game, build friendships, develop confidence, and be part of a team.

Thank you to Alternative Baseball and its founder, Taylor Duncan, for giving so many athletes the opportunity to play ball and be part of the team!

Through Rotary, we connect with our community, serve those in need, invest in our youth, support local organizations, and work together to create lasting change.

Here in Paulding County, we’re proud to be People of Action—showing up, serving others, and making our community stronger. Over the years, our club has raised and donated over $1 million dollars to our local community!

🏈 Paulding Rotary’s Annual Pigskin Preview! 🏈

This week, the Rotary Club of Paulding County hosted our annual Pigskin Preview, giving us the opportunity to hear from each of Paulding County’s high school football programs as they prepare for the upcoming season.

We were fortunate to hear from:

🏈 Paulding County High School — Justin Pressley
🏈 South Paulding High School — Jared Zito
🏈 East Paulding High School — Van Spence
🏈 North Paulding High School — Don Stark
🏈 Hiram High School — Joe Scott

Each coach gave us a behind-the-scenes look at their programs, insight into their locker rooms, and a preview of what they’re looking forward to this season.

We were also excited to celebrate some of our North Paulding girls basketball and competition cheer state champions, along with the East Paulding cheerleaders, who helped greet our guests.

A huge thank you to all of the coaches, athletes, and cheerleaders for taking the time to join us and share their stories. We’re proud to support the students, coaches, and schools that make Paulding County such a special community!

We are thankful for the opportunity to support Paulding County 4-H with a $1,500 donation!

Investing in our local youth and the programs that help them learn, grow, and develop valuable leadership skills is an important part of serving our community.

This week, our club was fortunate to hear from Katie Owens, Upper Coosa River Program Director for The Nature Conservancy. Katie shared about the incredible natural resources found throughout the Upper Coosa River Basin and the importance of protecting our rivers, streams, wildlife and surrounding lands.

The Upper Coosa is home to an incredible diversity of species and provides clean water for communities throughout the region—including right here in Northwest Georgia.

We’re thankful for Katie’s passion for conservation and for the work The Nature Conservancy is doing to protect these important resources for generations to come.

This week, our club was honored to welcome Chattahoochee Technical College President Heather Pence. We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Chattahoochee Tech and grateful for the incredible impact the college continues to make in our community by preparing students for successful careers and strengthening our local workforce.

We also had the pleasure of hearing from our Chattahoochee Tech Scholarship recipient, Brittany Lloyd. A Paulding County resident pursuing a degree in nursing, Brittany shared her educational journey and future goals. We are thankful for the opportunity to invest in the next generation of leaders and professionals, and we look forward to seeing the positive difference Brittany will make in our community.

Last week, several members of our club had the opportunity to serve alongside CAYA (Come As You Are) Reconciliation Ministries by packing and delivering lunches in our community.

CAYA is a Christ-centered, non-profit charitable services outreach ministry serving the materially and spiritually poor both locally and internationally. This week, our club had the opportunity to hear from our two RYLA participants, Brielle Neely and Julianna Neal, as they shared about their experiences and the impact of this incredible leadership program. We are proud to support the next generation of leaders in our community!

We also welcomed Emelia Belford, Chairperson for CareLink of Northwest Georgia, a local nonprofit, who shared about their mission of serving as a community health and wellness clinic providing low cost, high quality medical support to those who are in need.
