"We're fine" is one of the most expensive sentences a founder says.

"We're all already pretty broken. We just live with pretty high levels of denial."

Denial rarely looks like lying. It looks like a clean board deck, a confident update, a calendar too full for an honest conversation.

And it travels. Teams learn what's safe to say by watching what we leave out.

The leaders people follow are the ones willing to say, here's where I'm struggling, here's where I failed.

Owning it doesn't weaken the company. It's usually the moment the company starts telling us the truth too.

The longest-term investment any of us will make gets the least diligence.

In business, the term shapes the value. A three-year hold and a twenty-year hold get very different scrutiny.

Giving toward the Kingdom has no term at all. It compounds forever.

We still treat it as whatever is left after the real decisions are made.

If we ran our businesses that way, we would be out of business. If we managed our portfolios that way, we would be broke.

Joe Gibbs lost both of his sons within a few years of each other.

He spent roughly 18 months sitting with pastors, working through the questions that kind of loss raises.

Then he wrote the answers down for anyone walking the same road.

Pain kept private usually just stays pain.

"God gives us experiences, some of them we don't want. But I think, how do we use those to help other people?"

Someone around you is walking through the season you already survived. Hearing how you got through it could be the blessing they need.

That was how Joe Gibbs, Hall of Fame football coach and founder of Joe Gibbs Racing, started his 1991 pitch to Interstate Batteries.

There was no driver and no car, only a dream on a sheet of paper.

Coach Gibbs sat down with Justin Forman to talk about volunteering under Don Coryell and John Madden and winning three Super Bowls.

He also shares about watching a 17-person hobby grow into a nine-car racing operation.

But then things got personal as Gibbs opens up about losing both of his sons and the 18 months he spent wrestling with God.

Your bank statements already know what you believe about wealth.

Most of us would say, without hesitation, that God is the source of everything we have.

Fewer of us would let that belief near our cash reserves, our giving, or the deal we are afraid to walk away from.

That gap is where the real answer lives.

Belief is easy to say. It is much harder to fund.

Chris Tomlin dreamed he forgot his own concert.

He was racing to the stadium. He could hear the band already playing. Then, at the intersection, he saw a baby lying in the street. Abandoned. Screaming.

"How do I go do this concert and leave this baby?"

He got out of the car and picked up the child. Then he woke up.

He didn't act on it for years. He didn't have kids yet and had no idea what it meant.

Then he moved to Nashville and launched a Good Friday concert, deciding to give away every dollar of profit. It became the largest Christian concert in the city's history.

He didn't know where to give the money. His pastor asked if he'd ever thought about foster care.

In the dream, he had to choose between the stage and the child.
In real life, the stage became how he reached the child.

That night became For Others, now working alongside governors and state leaders to end the foster care crisis in America.
