The Commit Partnership

The Commit Partnership Breaking the cycle of economic inequity in Dallas County, one student at a time.

The Commit Partnership is the largest educational collective impact organization in the country, supported by the generous contributions of numerous foundations, individuals and companies, all focused on one goal - increasing the number of students graduating from our area with some type of postsecondary education (2-year or 4-year degree or career certificate). By working with the community to de

velop a common agenda with mutual accountability, supported by robust data, research and best practices, the Partnership's supporting "backbone" staff helps align our community to proactively address the biggest leaks in our education pipeline through a variety of strategies. Current areas of focus include early childhood, educator pipelines, and college access/completion.

High-quality pre-K changes lives long before kindergarten begins.

Dallas ISD's move toward universal pre-K is about more than access, it’s about creating stronger foundations for literacy, learning, and long-term economic mobility for every child and family in Dallas County.

Early investment matters. And this is a powerful example of what can happen when districts and communities work together to expand opportunity. Read more ⬇️:

Research has shown that high-quality pre-K programs, where children build vocabulary through read-alouds, develop early math skills through counting, and engage with teachers and peers, can bolster readiness for kindergarten and improve academic performance.

What does it take to expand economic mobility at scale?

In the latest episode of "Promise to Paycheck," Dr. Justin H. Lonon of Dallas College and Todd Williams from The Commit Partnership discuss how Dallas County is strengthening pathways from education to living-wage careers through partnership, policy, and student-centered innovation. The two leaders also discuss the Dallas County Promise, dual credit expansion, employer engagement, and the region’s goal to double living-wage attainment by 2040.

Last month, 200+ educators, college leaders, and partners gathered in Houston for the Texas Pathways & Data Proof Points Convening, an initiative of the Texas Impact Network supported by the Gates Foundation. Across four regions, 19 districts, and 9 colleges, over 240 attendees shared what's working, what's not, and what it takes to build pathways where every student graduates with a clear plan for what's next.

Five Dallas County districts — Dallas, DeSoto, Garland, Grand Prairie, and Mesquite — are at the center of this work.
