Together We Can Do Better
The truth is that restaurant workers are a vulnerable population. Our services are needed as copays and deductibles are high and often have to be paid in full before treatment can even begin. Not all treatment facilities have payment plans, or financial aid, depending on the diagnosis and price of the treatment. Also, restaurant work is unlike jobs that take place at a desk. Restaurant jobs are frequently all or nothing; no sick leave and no time off to recover.
OUR COMMITMENT Heard That’s founders have experienced firsthand the fear of being unable to receive medical care because of the lack of funds. We can truly be an empathic support system for the community. We commit to providing clients with emotional support, assistance with medical forms, fundraising and providing direct financial assistance following our Steps of Service Program.
OUR PHILOSOPHY When faced with a health crisis, the whole process can be extremely overwhelming. Our goals are to first help you feel supported and at ease. We are here to listen to what you have to say. As an organization, we will do our best to help you and to maintain a relationship throughout the healing process. Gratitude, compassion and inclusion are our guiding principles.
OUR APPROACH We are working to expand our network and fundraise to create our Steps of Service Program that will quickly assess and address the barriers to healthcare brought to us. We will serve as a resource to the Dallas restaurant community that business owners and employees alike can use to bridge gaps in healthcare coverage.
