Congratulations to Dave Potts being recognized as one of five Heroes on the Water "Volunteer Recognition - 2023" from the HOW National organization. Dave was selected for his dedication and service to his communities. There's a gift card that goes with this title, enjoy!
Dave Potts is one of the few, near invisible, volunteers committing his time in support of the DFW Chapter. Dave is the Assistant Chapter Coordinator and has served the chapter for 12 plus years. Due to his work schedule, he is rarely able to attend a chapter event. Dave’s job at Mariner Sails keeps him in front of the growing kayak community. He shares the HOW story with new customers and keeps HOW visible in the store. Mariner Sails operates a Kayak Fishing Club with a modest annual membership that is donated to the DFW Chapter. Dave is always promoting membership in the club.
Dave manages the veteran and volunteer lists of chapter members, communicates event details, and tracks the responses. The chapter has slightly more than 300 veterans and volunteers registered with the chapter. This service is invaluable to the DFW Chapter and is recognized as an exceptional volunteer in 2023.
Art Arnold and Stephn Guittard are being recognized as two of fifteen in the 2023 Heroes on the Water Volunteer Recognition Program.
Art and Stephen, though veterans, volunteer their time with all aspects of the DFW Chapter. They support all chapter event activities assisting with organization, setup, on water support, and load up process. Both are approved to haul the chapter trailers and together lead small group events. Art and Stephen b serve as volunteers before getting on the water to fish. They were nominated as exceptional volunteers for 2023. Congratulations to Art and Stephen on this recognition.
