Released but not free. 🔓

For Venezuela's political prisoners, walking out of the cell doesn't mean walking out of the regime's shadow. Surveillance 👁️, fear, and a fight for a normal life don't end when the prison gate opens — they're just beginning.

In our latest piece for Blood of Tyrants 🩸🖋️, contributing authors Soledad Castillo Jara and Daniel Rodríguez Ledezma take us beyond the headlines into what "release" really looks like for those the regime let go, but never let free.

🩸 When power refuses to surrender, it's ordinary people who pay the price.

This week on Blood of Tyrants, we're covering two nations trapped in cycles of war, repression, and displacement 🌍 — different corners of the world, same story: rulers who were never held accountable by the people they governed.

🇲🇲 Myanmar: decades of military rule, a coup, and a civil war that's displaced millions and shattered countless lives.

🇨🇩 Congo: one of the deadliest conflicts most people have never heard of, rooted in over a century of exploitation and misrule.

In this edition of Blood of Tyrants, we bring you two stories of nations fighting to reclaim their future from Russia’s grip — from Armenia to Ukraine.

🖋️ Daniella Lukach and Syune Mirzakhanyan share firsthand accounts of what it means to break away from a power that refuses to release its hold.

These aren’t abstract geopolitics. They’re human stories — of resistance, loss, and the will to be free.

The Armenian Genocide: A Bleeding Wound of a Nation

For generations, Armenians have carried the memory of a genocide that claimed the lives of approximately 1.5 million people and scattered millions across the world.

But what happens when the world remains silent?

In Blood of Tyrants, Syune Mirzakhanyan explores the history of the Armenian Genocide, the stories of those who survived, the lasting impact of generational trauma, and why remembering past atrocities still matters today.

DAY 3 RECAP & CLOSING 🇳🇵 — Liberty International World Conference 2026, Kathmandu

And just like that, LIWC2026 has come to a close.

✨ Antonio Saravia welcomed everyone to the final day, followed by José Cordeiro’s solo session “Longevity and Politics” and a panel on “The Power of Digital Nomadism” with Tomás Palicio and Anne Dias.

💬 The day continued with “Digital Tools to Spread Libertarianism” featuring Marcin Chmielowski and Robbie Miles, Carter Feldman’s “The Case for Digital Freedom,” and a moving panel, “Phoenix from the Ashes: What the Classroom Never Taught You,” with Lauren Autrey, Tomás Barreiro, Jaehyeon Park, Nafisa Pierce, and Neha Viswanathan.

🗣️ The afternoon brought Rakesh Surana’s interview on building Nepal’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, and Amit Chandra’s session “Winning Hearts and Minds for Liberty.”

🏆 We closed out the program with the Freedom Torch Award Presentation, honoring Sir Roger Douglas for his outstanding contributions to the cause of liberty. His son, Grant Douglas, received the Award on his behalf.

🥂 The conference wrapped with our Closing Gala Dinner, and a heartfelt solo session, “The Work Ahead, The Journey Together,” by Arpita Nepal — a perfect note to end on.

To every speaker, partner, sponsor, and attendee who traveled from across the world to be part of LIWC2026: thank you. And to our incredible staff and volunteers, whose tireless work behind the scenes made these three days possible — we couldn’t have done it without you.

Three days of ideas, connection, and shared purpose — this is what the fight for liberty looks like.

See you at next year’s conference! 🙏🌍

What a way to kick things off. Day one brought together voices from across the freedom movement for a day of ideas, dialogue, and celebration.
