“Fishing Differently” helped us recognize that the wisdom, relationships, healing, and solutions already exist within our communities and churches.

What we are building through "When the Problem Is at Home" ministry at Great Garth Chapel AMEC is putting those principles into action — helping the disabled and seniors remain safely at home through housing repairs, support, and community care while healing and restoration continue through Greater Garth Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Bridgette Miller is the Founder and Executive Director of When the Problem Is at Home, a faith-rooted initiative supporting seniors aging safely and with dignity in their homes. Her work is grounded in Asset-Based Community Development, focusing on relationships, dignity, and the strengths already present within communities. Bridgette partners with Greater Garth Chapel A.M.E. Church, where Rev. Dr. Challis Bradford serves as Pastor and Servant Leader, to help build sustainable, community-led housing solutions. She is also the owner of One Stop Shop All Solutions, LLC, providing housing consulting and project management services while remaining committed to “fishing differently” by honoring what communities already have.
