September Basic Education and Literacy Month - This month, we are highlighting our Rotarians involved in Education.
Audrey’s own educational journey has taken her around the world from studying zoology and ecology in Australia, to earning a master’s degree in teaching, to teaching English in China. Those experiences helped shape her belief that some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the classroom.
“Education has the power to open doors, build confidence, and help young people see possibilities for their future that they may not have considered before.”
At Dallas Community School, Audrey puts that belief into action by coordinating enrichment classes, field trips, workshops, special events, and community partnerships that connect students with real-world experiences.
Audrey values Rotary because of its commitment to service, community, and young people. She especially enjoys being part of a group that sees a need and asks, “What can we do to help?”
And something you might not know about Audrey? She spent time as an AmeriCorps volunteer teaching outdoor science in underserved communities combining her love of science, the outdoors, and working with kids.
Thank you, Audrey, for helping young people discover just how much is possible through education!
