๐Ÿ’™ Scripture + Application

๐Ÿ“– "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." โ€” James 1:22

It's easy to highlight a Bible verse.
It's harder to live it when someone hurts you.

It's easy to talk about forgiveness.
It's harder to forgive.

It's easy to talk about faith.
It's harder to trust God when the answer hasn't come yet.

The difference between information and transformation is application.

God didn't give us His Word simply to increase our knowledge. He gave us His Word to change our lives.

Today, don't just read the Scripture.

โžก๏ธ Apply it.
โžก๏ธ Walk it out.
โžก๏ธ Live it when nobody is watching.
โžก๏ธ Trust it when circumstances say otherwise.

One act of obedience is worth more than a thousand good intentions.

What's one Bible verse you're actively trying to live out right now? Drop it in the comments. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ  From Survival Mode to Stability ๐Ÿ’™

What if the biggest challenge after prison isn't finding a job...

It's learning how to stop living in survival mode?

"God is not the author of confusion, but of peace." โ€” 1 Corinthians 14:33

For many men and women, survival has been all they've ever known.

โš ๏ธ Make it through today.
โš ๏ธ Handle the crisis.
โš ๏ธ Do whatever it takes.

But God calls us to something greater.

At ROD Ministries, we've learned that lasting transformation happens when people move from instability to stability.

A stable foundation creates room for:

๐Ÿ’™ Accountability
๐Ÿ’™ Employment
๐Ÿ’™ Healthy relationships
๐Ÿ’™ Discipleship
๐Ÿ’™ Family restoration

Many former inmates are viewed only through the lens of their mistakes. Yet behind those mistakes are often years of brokenness, inconsistency, lack of guidance, and generational cycles that were never addressed.

That's why restoration matters.

When someone experiences the love of Christ, consistent support, biblical discipleship, and genuine community, everything begins to change.

Jesus didn't just meet immediate needs.

He restored lives.

He brought peace where there was chaos.
Direction where there was confusion.
Hope where there was despair.

Survival may keep someone alive.

But stability gives them the opportunity to thrive and build a future.

๐Ÿ’™ Every restored life impacts a family.
๐Ÿ’™ Every changed heart impacts a generation.
๐Ÿ’™ Every second chance reflects the grace of God.

๐Ÿ‘‡ What does stability mean to you?

๐Ÿ’™ Sunday Reflection: The Power of a Fatherโ€™s Legacy ๐Ÿ’™

A fatherโ€™s greatest gift isnโ€™t money, success, or the things he leaves behind.

Itโ€™s his presence.

The conversations.
The prayers.
The example.
The love.

Long after the gifts are forgotten and the years pass by, the impact of a father who showed up, loved well, and pointed others toward God continues for generations.

Not everyone experiences Fatherโ€™s Day the same way.

Some are celebrating.
Some are grieving.
Some are healing.
Some are grateful for a spiritual father, mentor, coach, grandfather, or friend who stepped into the gap when they needed it most.

One thing remains true:

The influence of a godly man reaches farther than he will ever know.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œThe righteous who walks in his integrityโ€”blessed are his children after him!โ€ โ€” Proverbs 20:7

๐Ÿ’ฌ Letโ€™s reflect together:

Whatโ€™s one lesson your father, grandfather, mentor, or spiritual father taught you that still impacts your life today?

๐Ÿ‘‡ Share it below. Your story may encourage someone else.

๐Ÿšจ THEY SENT HIM TO PRISON.

NOBODY TOLD THE FAMILY THEY WERE GOING TOO.

Nobody talks about the child who grows up missing a parent.

Nobody talks about the wife carrying the weight alone.

Nobody talks about the grandparents stepping in to raise children again.

Nobody talks about the empty seat at birthdays, graduations, holidays, and family dinners.

Incarceration doesn't just impact the person behind the bars.

It impacts everyone who loves them.

At ROD Ministries, we see the ripple effect every day. That's why we're committed to Biblical discipleship, mentorship, and restorationโ€”helping men rebuild their lives, restore relationships, and return home with purpose.

Because when one life is restored, an entire family can be changed.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Things We've Learned Serving Inside Prison

People often ask us what prison ministry has taught the men we serve.

The truth is... it has taught us just as much.

We've learned that people are more than the worst thing they've ever done.

We've learned that behind every inmate number is a father, a son, a brother, a story, and a soul that God still loves.

We've learned that hope can grow in places the world has given up on.

We've learned that transformation doesn't happen through judgment. It happens through relationships, accountability, discipleship, and the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.

We've watched hardened hearts soften.

We've watched men become leaders.

We've watched families reunited.

We've watched generational cycles begin to break.

And if there's one thing we know for certain, it's this:

โค๏ธ No one is too far gone for God's grace.

The same God who restores marriages, heals families, and changes hearts is still working today.

Now we'd love to hear from you:

๐Ÿ‘‡ What's something life has taught YOU about second chances?

Share your answer in the comments and let's encourage one another.

Why Community Matter:
The older I get, the more I realize that one of God's greatest gifts is community. ๐Ÿ’™

Not the people who only show up when life is easy.

The people who pray for you when you're struggling.
The people who celebrate your wins like they're their own.
The people who remind you who you are when you've forgotten.
The people who stay.

Community isn't about having hundreds of friends.

It's about having a few people who help carry the weight when life gets heavy.

I've learned that healing happens in community.
Growth happens in community.
Restoration happens in community.

Tag someone who has been that person for you. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ’™

"Two are better than one... If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." โ€” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

๐Ÿ’ง Bible Wellness Tip: Day 2 โ€” Hydration
By: Derek Washington

Drink more water today. Your body functions best when itโ€™s nourished, refreshed, and cared for.

โ€œDo you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?โ€ โ€” 1 Corinthians 6:19

Caring for yourself is not vanityโ€”itโ€™s stewardship. Every glass of water is a simple way to honor the body God has entrusted to you.

You canโ€™t pour from an empty cup. Take a moment today to refill, refresh, and thank God for the gift of health.

A Letter to My Younger Self

If I could sit down with the younger version of me, I wouldn't give him a shortcut. I wouldn't tell him how every chapter ends.

I'd simply tell him:

Keep going.

The heartbreak won't last forever.
The failures won't define you.
The closed doors are protecting you.
And the prayers you think God forgot are still being answered.

Everything you're walking through is shaping the person you're becoming.

Trust God.
Trust the process.
Trust the timing.

One day you'll look back and realize that what felt like a setback was actually God setting the stage for something greater.

What would you tell your younger self? ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐ŸŒŸ Ambassador Appreciation Spotlight ๐ŸŒŸ

Today we are honored to recognize Bob Landers, who is serving in his 7th year as a Restoration Outreach of Dallas Ambassador.

Bob's journey with ROD began in 2017 when he went to work for ROD founder Dick LeBlanc's company and became familiar with the ministry through its financial operations. After meeting with Dr. Jeff Parker and visiting the ministry firsthand, he knew God was calling him to be involved.

One of my favorite things Bob shared was this:

"When people ask me if I am involved in prison ministry, I tell them no. I serve in a men's discipleship program that meets at a prison."

What surprised Bob most wasn't entering the prison; it was discovering how much the ministry would impact his own life. Through years of faithful service, God has blessed him with deep relationships, lifelong friendships, and the privilege of watching lives transformed through Christ.

In fact, Bob says if he had to choose between Sunday morning church and Wednesday night at Hutchins, he would choose Wednesday nights because of the honesty, openness, and life change he witnesses among the men each week.

A few fun facts about Bob:
๐Ÿ“š He is an avid reader who "devours" books, often finishing a novel every week.
๐Ÿˆ He loves sports and has a highly competitive spirit.
โค๏ธ He credits his childhood and being raised by a hardworking single parent for developing his lifelong love of reading.

Thank you, Bob, for your faithful service, servant leadership, and unwavering commitment to discipling men behind bars and beyond. Your impact reaches far beyond what can be measured.

"Entrusting the message to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." โ€” 2 Timothy 2:2
