We have another wonderful speaker and workshop for you this month!
Tara Miller is a quilt historian, pattern designer, teacher, and speaker who helps today’s quilters find their voice through fearless fabric play, masterful print mixing, and deep connections to the past. Her work blends bold modern design with rich historical context—modern quilts with meaning. Tara’s lectures, workshops, and retreats spark creativity and build community. She has taught throughout the U.S., as well as in England and France. Her work has been featured in Quiltmania, Quiltfolk, Simply Moderne, and more. A former AQSG board member, she’s also co-hosted Quiltside Chats (YouTube) and worked with powerhouse quilt historians on The Six Know It-Alls.
Tara will be presenting her “The Magic of Mixing Prints” lecture. Mixing prints doesn’t have to feel overwhelming—in fact, it can be the most joyful part of the process. In this workshop, I’ll show you how to break out of the “matching” mindset and start combining fabrics from different designers, collections, and eras with ease. You’ll learn how to mix color, scale, and motif in a way that feels intentional, personal, and a little bit daring. Let’s turn fabric chaos into quilt magic—together.
Meeting is free for members, $20 for non-members. Visit our website www.dallasmodernquiltguild.com to register for the meeting and the workshop!
